Re: The OFFICIAL Craft Beer Thread
I didn't go to Hunahpu, or any of the Beer Week events last week, but Whole Foods did have Last Snow Porter on tap from Funky Buddha. It was a damn fine beer. A coconut and coffee porter, with neither of those tastes overwhelming the beer. I was at Huna Day. The 'fest was ok, but the bottle shares ...

Well, shit. I just looked at Google and the math wasn't broken at all. A $15,058 loan with 3.49% interest rate over 84 months is $202 a month. Wow. I've been out of school too long. I need to commit the equation to memory or download an app that computes this stuff for me. Well, I can still fall on...

The most aggravating thing though? How the math just couldn't ever add up just once. There must be an entire legion of people that are atrocious at math. I get the shitty negotiating tactics, but my god, when I'm multiplying monthly payments and it adds up to more than the price, WTF? Why is buying...

My wife and I had this discussion. She's been trained that if you fire a gun, you kill whatever you shoot at.

Big news, Jersey boys. Evil Twin, Stillwater and Westbrook now sold in NJ. I heard Evil Twin was in the works getting NJ distribution. Stopped in to BuyRite in N Plainfield and they had about 6 different Evil Twin beers and 4 or 5 Stillwater. So psyched. I'm really enamored with Mikkeller and Evil ...

Yes, distributors can offer volume discounts or incentives to sway stores into a larger share of shelf space. But, the reality is that beer has a shelf life. And beer buyers are particular. If an AB distributor convinced a store to give them 100% shelf space, they would lose a lot of customers(most...

I didn't know that. I've seen Carton around (rarely), Kane hasn't made the foray yet. With multiple distributors, how does shelf spacing work? Maybe things are different in other states, but New Jersey is extremely restrictive wrt distribution. Almost every store in my area have to use the same distributor. ABInBev is buying distributors in some states, and will soon be able to shut out non-AB beers. We need a Glass-Steagall Act for beer....

Right now, Dalton is playing like a top 5 QB. And the Steelers have a mediocre defense.
