Re: NFL 2023 Week 8 - Oilers
Why is Belichek wearing a Croatian flag? I assume from the name he’s Croatian, but is there a reason he’s showing the flag today? Is there yet another war I missed? Seen it on other coaches too this season for other countries. Certain you are right on Belichek’s ancestry. Think it’s a league effort...

Re: Rugby Gets Its Own Thread (and gnarly ears)
Hate to sayI told you so. They were incredibly lucky in all of their last three matches. Honestly they shit the bed a bit last night but so did the all blacks. Faf de Klerk is an unbelievable sports villain. An absolute master of the dark arts and being annoying in rugby. Hell of a player even if I...

Better news from vet this morning. He did well last night and is much more comfortable today. They’ve already taken him off the pain med drip. Keeping him through weekend because drain they put in collected 30ml of fluid last night. They think one more night with the drain and it can be removed. Nor...

Good luck, but you may have to rename him "tsar" now . Also ... "Tan". It’s front left so ank might be more appropriate. Thanks all. He made it through surgery but is in a lot of pain. They removed his lymph nodes too as they were quite swollen. Not a good sign for metastasizati...

So, we met with the oncologist and dropped Tank off for amputation yesterday. Leg and shoulder will be removed sometime this afternoon. Oncologist is optimistic because his scan showed no cancer anywhere else but the shoulder. If it IS osteosarcoma, it’s almost certain it will come back. He will go ...

So, we brought both of our pups (Tank, 7 y/o lab and Belle ?y/o Aussie cattle dog- her age is ? because she’s an adopted stray, vet thinks 8/9) with us to France. Over the last couple of months, Tank has had an on again/off again limp in his front left leg. Over the last several weeks it’s gotten si...

I don’t want to sound fatalistic, but if Mbappé goes to Saudi the game is in serious shit.
Re: Cricket
For sure they needed to be aggressive today, but the English have been scoring runs at high rates since baz took over, not just today. It’s simplistic to say bazball is just about scoring fast, but it’s primarily about playing without fear. I’d also argue that the aussies picked an offensive team, n...
Re: Cricket
Another really interesting day in what is turning into an incredible Ashes. Honestly, it could be 3-0 for either side at this point. England absolutely mashed the gas for about five hours today, and Crawley nearly got a double ton at over a run a ball. Question now is when do England declare? To hav...

Vingegard just won the Tour. Absolutely crushed it on the time trail. No idea why riders make the decision to change bikes before a climb like that. Just seems to crush any rhythm or momentum. The math on that is pretty well calculated. As is nearly all thing in the pro peloton. But every rider tha...

FWIW, coworkers did one of the big climbs on the criterium du dauphine then watched the race come by. They do every year and say it’s a blast. But I think doing the climb in the morning then seeing them do the same much faster is part of the thrill.
