Re: Random Thoughts About Thoughts Random

If you're the kind of guy who feels comfortable yelling at his wife and cussing at the top of his voice in a nice restaurant, maybe we shouldn't go to dinner together. Really upsetting dinner with "friends" last night. This is a friend of my wife's whom I love and think is amazing and swe...

Like I said, this sounds like a two-way street. Even if you bend over backwards to see his point of view, there’s n...

That link says they are leaving their name and logo in Phoenix, presumably for a future expansion team.

I wonder what they'll nickname the team? Something that says, "Utah" I guess? Hmm... "Jazz" is already taken..., maybe the Utah Zydeco? Or, the Utah Hiphop? SLC Punk?

Yeah, Holtzman was a great pitcher for the Oakland A's in those three World Series wins. Hit a home run in one Series, too.

I read that most CBS stations in the Eastern and Central time zones cut the concert off early, during the middle of Piano Man, to go to local news.

Yeah, that was a hell of a save. That kid went undrafted, so he is a free agent. Earned himself a nice contract from somebody with his play the last few days, I’d guess.

The Jets and the Avalanche are highly likely to face each other in the upcoming first round of the playoffs. Today, Winnipeg just edged Colorado 7-0. One wonders how that carries over into the playoffs.

I think they had the highest wage bill in League Two so gonna start getting a lot tougher from here. But League One is a big deal. Start playing some decent sized clubs at that level. They might be able to retrench to get to the Championship by 2026. Yep. Who knows what they could accomplish? Ipswi...

Only one spot out of the playoffs for promotion. But, only two games remaining, and the team they have to catch, Oxford, leads by two points and has a game in hand.

Great question. And I agree that increasing the size of the court - and possibly the lane - would help. It's kind of wild to think about the size of players today compared to when the court size was decided. Obviously, there are logistical issues with increasing the size of courts at some older gym...

I don’t know why the Winklevosses think they are the first crypto team. League Two Crawley Town’s owners are clearly crypto tech bros. WAGMI purchased Crawley around the same time the NFT market began plummeting and crypto investors turned to real-world assets for stability. “We were trying to use a...

From the outside, it seems like a pretty smart hire. BYU finished with a better rating than Kentucky this year. Guess which team had better talent? And BYU plays that ultra-modern offense of a ton of threes and layups. I think they were #4 in the country in the % of their shots from the 3pt line. I...

Burns an Karlsson both essentially played rover. Elite offensively but always an adventure on defense. Vlasic never really filled that mold. He used to be an excellent defender, but he got old overnight, a couple years ago.

The problem in Phoenix was always the location of the arena, until they moved. Phoenix has traffic and it was a tough location. Now they play in that tiny facility, but at least they sell it out.
