I always used to joke that if I had a son, I'd name him "Lou" so that his name would be the same as "Lou Reed" (different spelling though).

I'm in the market for a new TV (thinking about an LG 47" LCD for $549)...but my question is about getting a soundbar for the thing. Are they any good? Drawbacks?

I'd like to have better sound then you get out of a flat panel TV, but I don't want to go the whole home theater route.

Fuck Larry Ellison. This....a million times over. I really thought ETNZ had it won when Oracle went bow down right at the first mark. I just watched the highlights from yesterday, and wow....did ETNZ gack on the second race. They had a clear lead, and tried to do a "leebow" tack, and just got rolled by Oracle. Bad tactical decision, and then the tack was slow, and Oracle just blasted away from them.

I don't know that they did to the boat, but Oracle has tweaked something to get better upwind boat speed. And Spithill is totally in Dean Barker's head now, and is getting great starts.

Today is going to be insane. If Barker loses this, he may have to go into exile somewhere.
