Re: The Autism Thread
That's really cool, bfj! Hey, what's your position on "the spectrum" and people sort of self-diagnosing themself as being on the spectrum, either tongue-in-cheekly or perhaps not? It just seems like a trend right now. Like is that a thing that's problematic with the autism support communi...

Thanks gents. Got a chance to meet Jim Palmer and got a ball signed by him also. Told him that he was my father’s favorite pitcher and by default mine. He was very nice to the younger kids who had come out with our group. Had a moment or two to chat w trouble maker, Kevin Brown and thanked him for d...

Love this kid. He and Max were classmates for a while. I asked him to throw out a first pitch at a class A game our org attended a few years back. He called when when he got the first pitch call from the O’s and told me he was getting “called up”!

Order for him? His bad eyesight affects his vocal chords? No, his bad eyesight doesn’t affect his vocal cords, but it surely soured his disposition. Again, something she was aware of. Like I said, this sounds like a two-way street. Even if you bend over backwards to see his point of view, there’s n...

I have an eyeglass Rx and reading glasses. If I’m exhausted, my readers barely work. Basically, that guy’s eyes were shot, which obviously walled him off further than usual. Wifey didn’t help matters much at all, but then I think that was but a glimpse into a battle that’s been going on for some ti...

If you're the kind of guy who feels comfortable yelling at his wife and cussing at the top of his voice in a nice restaurant, maybe we shouldn't go to dinner together. Really upsetting dinner with "friends" last night. This is a friend of my wife's whom I love and think is amazing and swee...

Watched the first two episodes of Guy Ritchie’s new series The Gentlemen , on Netflix ( a spinoff from the movie of the same name). I’m enjoying it very much. Very Guy Ritchie-ish, in the crime/comedy sense. We finished this yesterday. We loved it, but weird show. I'm not familiar with Guy Ritchie,...

Because nobody has ever heard how Piano Man ends. Thanks for the warning. Gotta admire your commitment to the principle, bfj! (I'm not a fan, either, but wasn't going to poke the bears, so to speak.) It's not just road traffic greatly affected. With that bridge in the water, ships now can't get to nearly any of Baltimore ports. Gonna be a huge pain in the ass with a huge financial hit. Amazon has an huge warehouse right by there. Amazon packages and new car shipments will be delayed for sure. L...

Mother in law lives in Catonsville. I can’t in good conscience suggest to my wife to drive west through the city cuz the effort to run I-70 downtown died off a long time ago. We have to either take the tunnel, drive downtown to 95 at OPCY, or take 95N to 695W around the city to CVille. It’d be easi...

Watching those videos, rooting for the trucks and cars to make if off the bridge before the ship hit. Thanks for the video driving over the bridge, I was picturing something much smaller. As for the speed of the collapse, most of the videos were sped up, but still, that was crazy, but not surprisin...

Certainly not my favorite owner in sports, but when my uncle who was a “big time” lawyer in Baltimore fell ill toward the end of his life and his partners sort of booted him out of his firm, Peter Angelos employed him for years and let him work a schedule that allowed him to recover. When he got be...
