Re: The Walking Dead Thread Walks Again

I liked it ok. Sure, a bit silly. But they set up the end of the show nicely, covered some plot ground (moved Milton's arc forward, same for Tyreese), and gave us some thrills with Angela v Governor. (I know, every true villan has to defy certain death, but give me a fucking break.) I am looking for...

Worthy of mention, too obscure for own thread

Ruth Ann Steinhagen, dead at age of 83. Natural causes, pun intended. Of course you have heard of her.

Steubenville Rape

This story hits lots of buttons. My girlfriend at the time was a reporter who covered a similar story twenty years ago in Northern New Jersey (Glen Ridge, for you homies in the region old enough to remember). The addition of modern communication altered the dynamics of this situation. High school at...

Provodikov fucked up Tim Bradley in the second round; Bradley refused to fall. The Siberian Rocky took some himself, but basically couldn't finish because he punched himself out.

Vargas prevailed, despite being knocked down in the second. 96-94 x 2, 97-91. Fair call, no shame to "Lucky Boy". Both will be back on TV soon. Ruslan "The Siberian Rocky" Provodnikov dropped champ Bradley in the first, although ruled a slip. You see this on one the youtube. Mayb...

now it has morphed into a slower, tactical fight in the middle rounds. Vargas using his speed to counter his opponent's power, and scoring with stiff jabs; Lucky Boy probing for an opening to launch a power shot. Entertaining fight through seven of ten.

And this has suddenly turned into a brain damage fight. Vargas pounding on not-so lucky boy's face, the tough Nigerian refusing to taste the canvas (filled up on leather instead). Apologize for the stereotyping, but these damn West Africans are so damn hard-headed.

good scrap on HBO right now. Jesse Vargas vs Wale "Lucky Boy" Omotoso. 23-0 vs 21-0; "Lucky Boy" is a touted prospect but tonight is his first non-tomato can. Vargas has been handled a bit less cautiously, but these are some of my favorite matchups--young guys who are skilled and...

Economic Collapse--The Trainwreck is Now in SuperSlo-Mo

Just to remind you, homies. There is no economic recovery. Just some temporary window dressing from printing a couple trillion dollars. A likely path to the unraveling of the façade, and the exposure of the true bankrupt character of the banking system is an external triggering event. War in Asia (N...
