Re: Science!
The library was very cool. They also had a first folio of Shakespeare's works, some hand-written notes of Byron and Farraday, along with the original hand-written version of Winnie The Pooh. We followed up that visit with lunch at The Eagle, a 350-year-old pub where Crick and Watson famously announc...

In a couple of hours, I'm going to walk across town and pay a visit to Wren Library at Trinity College. It looks like this: http://www.trin.cam.ac.uk/show.php?viid=11 http://archiveadventure.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/wren.jpg?w=455&h=303 What I'm most excited about though is that the library h...

Not really hip extension. It deals more with driving from the heels. I always have a tendency to go up on my toes which forces the bar forward and, by extension, me to go forward to catch the bar. Now the bar travels much for vertically, but I worry I won't have the ability to get power behind it. ...

Re: Home Repairs
Anywho, my point is that home improvement repairs are negotiable. Good lesson learned. I'm always wary of haggling much with anyone who afterward has to come work in my house on something I don't fully understand (or simply can't see if it's behind drywall). I want them doing the best job they can,...

I've had Chrome eat up my CPU a lot recently. In particular, my Google Calendar tab has gone nuts several times since I've been here in the UK. Not sure if it's Chrome's fault or Calendar's fault. Either way, I guess that something is wrong with their handling of my changing time zones.

Yeah, what a fucked up voice. I guess that's what happens when a Brit moves to Hollywood and plays guys with not Brit accents. And also maybe has a speech impediment?

How'd I miss this thread? I'm in Scotland right now! I'm looking out my window on a very summery Edinburgh morning. Great city. We toured the city castle and Royal Mile yesterday. Today we are headed to an island in the Forth of Firth (love that name) to check out an ancient abbey. If time allows, w...

Just caught up. Walt is the ultimate anti-hero. I'm thinking that he inadvertently causes Hank's death (or another key figure, maybe Walt jr.) and the series ends with him on top of the dog pile but having to wrestle with his conscience. He's proven that he can beat everyone else. Just not himself....

Any of you peeps, particularly the Denver ones, know a radio host and author named Dom Testa? Apparently he has a popular drive-time radio program in Denver. He seems like a pretty good guy. I met him and had dinner with him tonight here in Cambridge.

Yeah, our dryer sometimes leaves what looks like skid marks on white clothes. Very annoying. I didn't have the balls to try to replace the seal myself. I think I had a repair guy do it a few years back, but it seems to be happening again.

How much does it generally cost to have a car towed across the country? I am looking to buy a car and have seen some great deals out of state. Is it worth the hassle? (I am not moving but figure the question fits the topic) Last time I looked (a few years ago), it was something around $3-500. And i...

I didn't get it. Pretty sure that quote being attributed to Marley is total bullshit. How is punching someone "attempted murder?" I understand that you CAN kill someone with a punch, but I don't think anyone's ever done that on purpose (unless they punched the guy repeatedly).
I get a charge of assault or something, but attempted murder?

In the 60's and 70's when this issue became a political/legal issue in the U.S. the science was much different than today. I found myself wanting to like Sex on the Moon more than I actually did like it. It's a cool story - I love a good heist story - but as others mentioned, the facts didn't all add up.
