Re: 2018-19 NBA Regular Season Thread

Yeah, it's supposed to be two steps - i.e. each foot hitting the floor one more time - after your last dribble. The NBA has gone soft on what they call "the gather step," allowing essentially 3 steps because the first one doesn't really count while the player is "gathering" the ball. To me, that's m...

Just stunning how Chelsea has crumbled in the past few weeks. I'm not at all a fan of constantly firing managers and bringing in new systems - I think that's a big part of why this team has become so dysfunctional. But, man. A team with that level of talent simply can't play like that. Sarri needs t...

You guys convinced me! Edit: no you didn’t. They suck. They tried to go all hipster and give you old Floyd. Anyway, Pink Floyd isn't really an individual songs band. They have some great songs, but really their stuff works much better in context of the albums. If you haven't listened to Animals, Da...

That's a rare Pink Floyd cover that's actually good. I know this is an incredibly subjective opinion but I think Gilmour is the greatest rock guitarist ever and most attempts to duplicate his guitar playing fall so far short of the original. I'm a huge Gilmour fan as well. Nobody ever conveyed more...

47-24 . Ranked teams at that. Wow! I watched part of the first half of that game. It was still 5-2 halfway through the first half when I realized Duke-St. Johns was on another channel. Yeah, it all depends on the goal of the chart. If each product needs to be tracked separately, then a grouped bar chart is probably best. If it's total revenue that's most important, but you still want to see the contribution of each product, then a stacked bar chart is better.

I don't think any of the three sides were innocent there. And in hindsight, nobody did anything that bad either.
I think you need to ask yourself why each of those three sides were there before you just decide to split the blame in three and call it a lesson.
This makes no sense.

Well, obviously the NCAA likes the rule keeping their players at school, but they'd have no recourse if the NFL changed their mind. I'm not really sure what leverage the NCAA has to make the NFL conform to their wants. The rule was put in place by the NFL to protect itself from itself (just like the...

Deadspin is wrong and its just a coincidence that the only two major professional sports with an age limit are the two that generate insane amateur revenue.
Those rules are put in place by the pro leagues, not the NCAA.
