Re: Swamp Kids in College Thread

My son heard back from his first choice, Swarthmore, Friday night. He got in. He's really excited not only about getting in, but now he doesn't have to do any more applications!

(no scholarships, though)

I say this not to brag, but out of amazement. Since the start of last season, UVA is 40-3. It's truly mind boggling. But that's not people will remember about the team. If the only thing you know about Virginia basketball is the UMBC loss, your opinion couldn't matter less to me. They’ve obviously ...

I didn't think it was complete shit. If you didn't think about it too much, it was entertaining. But it really needed some better editing. The story was overly complex for something that didn't really have a real conclusion. Definitely not nearly as good as the first one.

He does have an iPhone. I have an Apple Watch and do use it to track my runs (although I run much less and less seriously than he does). So yeah, I agree that would work. But then, it's $280 for the Series 3 watch. $400 for the new one. TBH, while I like my watch, I really don't use it for much othe...

Fuck Jeeves - running watches

Hey Swmpers, I'm thinking of getting my son a good watch for running. Unfortunately, there are a jillion of these, even if you read a few "Best Of" lists. Do any of you have personal experience with a watch you like? A few criteria: - Needs to be simple to use (he's not the most tech-able kid) - Sho...

Duke's three stud freshmen all went for 20+ again in game two (led by Zion's 27 and 16). I wonder if any team has ever had three freshmen each score 20+ in their first two games? Maybe one of those Kentucky teams?

I'll admit I haven't studied the issue much, but is it really reasonable to jump the national minimum wage by over 100% ($7.25 to $15)? In a country as large as ours, there are drastically different costs of living and wage levels in different areas. While $15 isn't much to make or pay in NYC, it's ...
