Re: Proud Parental Unit Crowing Thread

Alas playoffs ended a couple weeks back for the White Sox. Successful season but youth sports is insanely competitive so it's really hard to win around here. Kid made me super proud though. Some dad with an expensive camera took some great shots and I wanted to show off the homemade mound. https://...

I drove in rain that turned into a massive hail storm today. Golf ball-sized hail just pounding off the roof of my car. Craziest thing I've ever driven in. Amazingly, I don't think it dented up my car, but it sure sounded like an army was taking a hammer to my car. I was worried that my windshield a...

The key differentiator among those is which ones became college assistants first and learned the college coaching game before becoming a head coach. I think that's critical. Coaching 18-21 year old college kids is WAY different than coaching pros. And as mentioned, recruiting is a huge part of the e...

I like the Juwan hire. Dude has built quite a reputation, both around the league and in the AAU realm. Important to keep Yaklich or another of the top assistants. That fact that Yak isn't already signed up with Texas is a very good sign. I hope it works out, but I can't understand a major program h...

Tanium has a pretty big office here in the Triangle (Morrisville). There are more devs here than in HQ in Emeryville, CA. I'll be a PM, not a dev, but I'll work closely with devs, so this is pretty convenient.

In the book, Bran has visions of the future, but I don't think they're always clear or complete. And probably not set in stone either. He does have the ability to go back and see history, but again, he can't reasonably see everything . There's only so much time. I think he picks critical moments, li...

I think it's probably pushing it to say that Bran sees all. Yes, he CAN see a lot things - maybe not everything - but I think he's still subject to the constraints of time that the rest of us are. He isn't going to know every happening and every conversation and action of everyone in the story. It's...

Yeah, I thought it was good as well. There's almost no way to end a story that epic and have it please everyone. Was it perfect? No. But it made sense (for the most part), which is not a trivial thing when you're talking about a story with that many characters and storylines. That said, a few gripes...

BTW, the more I've thought about the episode, particularly Dany's burning of the city, the more I like it. I did really want Jaime to find Cersei and kill her though. I hated that he went out like a bitch. If indeed he did go out.
