Re: The Singularity

Well, I bought mine used and I try not to think about Elon too much when I drive it. There were lots of lots good engineers who really deserve the credit that everyone loves to give him. And for the most part, he built those things before he took that crazy right-turn a few years ago.

I had to drop my Model Y at the Tesla service center this weekend (the battery suddenly stopped charging). The first vehicle I saw in their shop being worked on was a Cyber Truck. Thing couldn't have been on the road for long before that.

Holy shit, Cole Palmer. Thank you, City! And with his 4th goal, he's now tied with Haaland for first in the PL! Nobody would have guessed that anyone on Chelsea would be challenging for that. He's also one assist shy of tying the league lead there as well. Hell of a season for the Brit-looking lad!

Is there a more frustrating experience in modern life than trying to log into a site and it tells you the password is wrong. So you click Forgot Password, have it send you code, you type in the code, and then it prompts you for a new password. You enter a new password and it then says OK, log in now...

Great question. And I agree that increasing the size of the court - and possibly the lane - would help. It's kind of wild to think about the size of players today compared to when the court size was decided. Obviously, there are logistical issues with increasing the size of courts at some older gym...

From the outside, it seems like a pretty smart hire. BYU finished with a better rating than Kentucky this year. Guess which team had better talent? I couldn't love Alien or Aliens much more. They're both brilliant movies. But I haven't really liked a movie in the series since. Alien 3 was a huge disappointment. It was a bit of a roster problem at Chelsea. The team was up and down during his time, with a number of different managers. But the one position they constantly had surplus in was wingers. It was a bit darker than a full sun day, but not obviously so. We didn't prepare, ...

Re: NCAA Basketball 23-24

I suspect there’s something potentially disastrously scandalous coming down the pike. A top coach doesn’t just leave UK. If it’s money, I would think Cal has enough cachet to get them to match any offer. Cal does tend to leave one step ahead of the executioner (the NCAA), but in this case, I think ...

Yeah, that's pretty huge. I don't think Cal leaving is a huge surprise, even if it is big news. Going to a conference rival is a surprise though. The next domino will be interesting. I have to think that Hurley and Oats are at the top of UK's list. I don't think Danny's going anywhere, but I'm sure ...

The problem is that the replay they showed on TV didn't show the UConn girl's legs and was at an angle where it wasn't easy to see her movement. So it was easy for everyone to declare it a bad call. Especially because nobody wanted that possession to end on an offensive foul. But the live shot from ...

That's wild. I wonder if that happening on such a big stage led to so many coaches auto-sitting any player with 2 fouls in the first half. Some coaches will let a player get his 3rd, but leaving a star in with 3 fouls in the first half? That's criminal negligence.

I don't know how closely the tournaments all work together, but if they set the NIT as an autobid for next year it would probably stop teams from backing out or not caring.
