Hola, amigos! Its been a long time since I rapped at you. I really need to scrap Verizon and find another alternative. For unlimited talk and text and 2gb of data I am being charged $125 a month for an IPhone 4S. Its hilarious listening to their customer service fumble their sales pitch through just...

Man's Search For Meaning

So as some of you know I've spent the last few years battling a nasty addiction to alcohol. In addition to 12 step programs I've also spent a fair amount of time on the psychiatrist's couch. One of the things we've touched upon lately is that I lack a sense of purpose or even passionate feelings abo...

I'm looking for a cell phone for my mom who is 84. Has to have large numbers, minimal features and be cheap. She has a knack for losing cell phones. My gut tells me to go the tracphone route as those are cheap and disposable. Mom doesn't like this idea, maybe the idea of changing numbers seems like ...

Didn't see an appropriate thread to post this. Nobel Prize-winning Irish poet Seamus Heaney died yesterday at the age of 74. Here's an excerpt from "A Cure at Troy" Human beings suffer, they torture one another, they get hurt and get hard. No poem or play or song can fully right a wrong in...

So is the unknown draft on espn set up like our drafts usually are? I did one random draft on ESPN for laughs and it was an auction. Frankly, I'm barely sophisticated enough to so the snake style draft let alone an auction. I ended up with 2 NY Jets at RB because I blew my money in the early rounds....

‘The Bible Belt is collapsing,” says Russell Moore. Oddly, the incoming president of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission doesn’t seem upset. In a recent visit to The Wall Street Journal, Mr. Moore explains that he thinks the Bible Belt’s decline may be “bad for...

Even though I'm not Christian I do see the importance of Christmas and it is worth protecting. Can Christmas be a non-religious thing? Yeah, at this point its more of a cultural thing. Big sis raised her kids Buddhist but still celebrated it so the kids wouldn't feel left out of all the social bs.

Just caught up. Walt is the ultimate anti-hero. I'm thinking that he inadvertently causes Hank's death (or another key figure, maybe Walt jr.) and the series ends with him on top of the dog pile but having to wrestle with his conscience. He's proven that he can beat everyone else. Just not himself.

What's gotten into the Bruins? I've not really followed hockey seriously since Hasek inspired legions of young hockey fans into traction and scoliosis. In Botticelli's Allegory of Spring, there are 500 identified plant species depicted in the painting, with about 190 different flowers.
