A couple of hours later, and I'm hearing Warren Zevon's voice in my head. That's not too bad. Everybody else in this thread is angry at rass, but I was able to turn his underhandedness into a positive.

Re: NHL 2021 Offseason

I love this Reaves trade. The Pens won back to back Cups because they were the fastest, most-skilled team in the league. Then Tom Wilson hurt their feelings, so their GM changed direction and acquired Ryan Reaves and a bunch of other big, slow guys. A few years later, the Rangers were building aroun...

Re: Friday Music Discussion - 'murican song construction

Just listened to it for maybe the first time. I think this is one of those songs that I knew about without ever hearing it. I was so lost in my own bubble in 2007, so it's possible this bypassed me completely. I knew that it was a risk playing it, because now it might be stuck in my head. But if I b...

Helm (just posted 89 points over 5 years for a mere $19.25 million) and Glendening leaving (Dallas) means Danny DeKeyser is the last Ken Holland guy on the roster, at a quick glance. While they all had their roles and were often effective in them, this does not really sadden me. I can understand th...

I see Georgiev wants out of New York. Maybe the Rangers are still spooked by Tom Wilson's shadow and will trade Georgiev to Edmonton for Kassian. I don't know if the pipeline is still open without Gorton, but Arizona would make some sense too. I know a certain Rangers fan who thinks Christian Dvora...

I wrote about Burke's book in another thread. It goes against everything I think and believe in, yet I found it wildly entertaining. And yeah, his story of drafting the Sedins is even wilder than I had remembered. Arizona trades Kuemper to Colorado for a first-rounder and Conor Timmins. Excellent tr...

This has been a 'sort by new' kind of day. I think I read that 60 signings were announced in the first 2 hours of free agency. It's been hard to keep up. I've been hoping for the Pens and Oilers to sign or trade for a shiny new goalie like Raanta or Mrazek or Kuemper. Nothing doing yet. Kuemper is s...

Anybody else watching tonight? I'm here for the Habs. I don't usually root for a team that's up 2-0, but I guess I'm finally a Carey Price fan, so I'll ride this out for a bit longer.

Shamefully, I'll probably miss the Avs/Vegas game for the Mayweather/Paul farce. Don't judge me.
