I really hope the next CBA the players address these shenanigans. Push the date to mid-season or so and put some pressure on teams to promote earlier in the season or risk keeping a better player out longer. Or maybe do what the NBA does and tie it to the awards. I’m at my parents today in Southern Jersey, I didn’t feel a thing. If this turns out to be no real damage I’m going to be disappointed.

If it is damage, it’d be scary and potentially tragic, obviously. But if this knocks out my flight Sunday I guess I’m going on a road trip.

I don't know how closely the tournaments all work together, but if they set the NIT as an autobid for next year it would probably stop teams from backing out or not caring. I can agree with this part. There were so many opt-outs from this year, which I don't appreciate if it were a coach's decision...
