Gio really deep. Opposite McKennie but deeper. I don't like it. Pulisic mostly invisible Yeah, we need Reyna higher in a 10 role. While I mostly agree, the way they were having the outside backs push really high necessitated a bit more of conservative play from the central guys. That just wasn't ha...

That was one of the most improbable (and best) goals I've seen in this rivalry. Benny Feilhaber's goal in the Gold Cup was similar.

It's also jarring because he signed a contract extension through end of next season and so much of the hype around him was how well he was doing and, like you said, that he was a leader for the club.

M hires FAU's Day as new HC. General consensus is they were able to get The Guy in terms of available candidates and they beat out L'ville (reportedly) to do so. Lots of folks calling for Warde Manuel's (AD) head in recent months... Methinks that clammer will die down for awhile. (This is the same f...

I don't really know. He had an injury that he dealt with in January, came back and seemed fine, but then he hasn't really played in a month. No news of an injury and he seemed fine in the US camp.

So, yep, that was one of the things I left out last night: * Balogun is GGG's guy. I kind of get wanting him to play and he was OK at times. But he's not in form for his club, while guys like Sargent-->Wright and Pepi are... So, while I wasn't too annoyed with the starting XI, I did have an issue wi...

The reason he has to go to the Saudis and the Russians for financing is that every bank in America knows he's a shitty businessman, and doing business with him is just setting money on fire. I'd really be curious who would want his shares as collateral when they're in reality worth less than Monopo...

I remember getting moved up from JV to V as a freshman in baseball. Got to play RF in a blowout playoff loss, but hit one of only 4 dingers in my entire "career" to avoid the mercy in the 5th. Weird feeling. I also got moved up to V in soccer my sophomore year as a field player, which I st...

Absolutely agree. My buddy had read that Bournemouth asked GGG not to play him 90, and that's totally understandable. But burning 2 subs there is just really really dumb.

Sure, yeah... But that wasn't part of the analysis, unless I missed it.
But, yeah, overall... thinking about it after I posted... It's not like this is some journeyman rando... It really does have the Jordan vibe, but with actual wire transfer proof/details.

I've decided that what inarguably should have been a loss to a Jamaica team missing more key players than we were plus a decisive loss to Mexico is actually our best path to a new coach. Lose to Jamaica and it can be called a fluke, 3rd place match means nothing because guys will be checked out. Th...

Analysis: If this were the case it would be the biggest baseball scandal since the Black Sox, right? Ohtani would not only be in criminal jeopardy for illegal gambling but he’d probably face a permanent ban from the game. It’d be absolutely massive and would upend professional sports for a very, ve...

1) I was very down on the Caps early on. Addition by subtraction and now they are playing a very solid style. I hate to say this, but Backstrom being out was already a net positive, and then you have Oshie out for extended amounts of time, which is allowing the young guys (many of whom played on the...

I mean, I don't think you can put the fact that he was part of the national youth team pool that included CP as him riding coat tails or whatever. He was, by many accounts, a true stud back then. Not for nothing, but Aaronson scored what turned into the game winner for Union Berlin. And while it was only the extended highlights, the announcer said multiple times he was the best player on the field. So... he's got that going for him... which is nice.

The other guy making a serious case at the nine/striker slot is Haji Wright. Assisted on the tying and then scored the winner in Coventry's epic FA Cup win to push them into the finals at Wembley. Pretty relieved Manuel (AD) didn't drag this out. Rip off the bandaid and move on with the entire field to look at. Beilein, while I love what he did for the program, absolutely fucked them by leaving when he did.
