Re: CUBE LIFE! Office Etiquette
I'm taking a mandated Workplace Harassment and Discrimination course for work. I'm fine with that. But this course is penalizing me for going too fast. I skipped listening to their slow narration and just read the text which is the same. Much faster that way. But I just got to a page that said I'm g...

Nope. The last was in '81. UVA and Ralph Sampson beat LSU. It was played just a few hours after Reagan was shot.DaveInSeattle wrote: ↑Thu Mar 21, 2024 10:59 am And, if I remember correctly, it was the last one to have the 3rd place game.

As Bronto said, it's typically been 11 seeds, not 10s. But those 11 seeds have done pretty well. Two of them, VCU and UCLA, even made runs to the Final Four.

Don't get it twisted. I'm not at ALL suggesting that Virginia move on from Bennett or that he's not a great coach. A little perspective - this "terrible" team finished 3rd in the ACC this year. And they've won (outright or tied) the ACC regular season 6 times in the last 11 years. Duke and...

My apologies to everyone who had to watch or even read about that mess. For some reason this particular uva team would occasionally show up to games with no interest in playing hard in offense. You could usually see it in the first few possessions, which was true last night. Ugh. They could probably...

I've been at work at my job for just under 3 months and my commander has already given me major kudos and said, in front of people, "So do I have to get you some type of retention bonus or something because I really don't want you to leave anytime soon." It completely caught me off guard....

I am envious of those old skiers. There was a time in my life when I skied 30+ times a year. Now, with eye and shoulder issues, my balance seems off. So I may never ski again. It’s not a big deal, given the cost, anyway, but it does make me wistful. It is expensive, but with planning, there are way...

This is more - shit that makes you feel better about getting old. It's an article about folks in their 80s and 90s still skiing. It's relevant to me not only because that's what I want to be when I grow up, but also because I've gone skiing with my mom in Colorado each of the last two winters. She w...

BTW, I can't get over how UVA went from #3 in the ACC and a few seconds from the ACC Tournament title game to probably out of the NCAA Tournament altogether. All for want of one more made free throw out of the last 5 or so they took and missed.

One game shouldn't matter that much. At least not for seeding. Houston earned their 1 seed. That said, getting blown out like that is really eye opening and should definitely affect their Vegas odds for a title.

To that point, I'd probably take the concerns a lot more seriously if the same scrutiny and restrictions were universally applied. What are some examples? You know, I thought Sampson was a solid coach at Oklahoma, but not a great one. And then he fucked up at Indiana. It's wild to seem him step up at Houston to being truly elite.
