Re: U-20 World Cup

Why does the youth WC always seem to have obscure soccer countries like Myanmar in the finals? I think it's because the qualifiers come from one regional tournament rather than a qualification process like The Hex. The qualifiers for this tournament came from 6 smaller tournaments held in Europe: H...

Re: FIFA

I just think it would be less. In general people want to see the world's best and I'm not sure without the World Cup, as many players will be discovered. Take a guy like Keylor Navas. He's played in how many matches for Costa Rica, how many Gold Cups? One World Cup run and he signs with Real Madrid....

Mexico vs Mali, Malian had a guy sent off a few minutes into the 2nd half, now halfway through the 2nd half, Mexico got 2 red cards in a minute.

10 vs 9 should be fun.

ETA: Mali's up 2-0!

Re: FIFA

The Europeans dont even want the South Americans let alone the rest. And even if they did, South America would still be hesitant on being a junior partner to Euro. South America is still bitter about being totally cheated in the 1966 World Cup by a then European-dominated FIFA. In fact since Havelan...

I think a Europe/SA tournament would fail in the long run. Players from other regions wouldnt be showcased and wouldnt be bought by the big clubs. I think the two teams are equal but the grind has taken over the Hawks who basically only play 4 defensemen.
Chicago have won all 4 multi overtime games that they have played in (a playoff record) but they are 0-4 in each of the following games.

That just sounds ridiculous, Toronto screws up everything.

4 billion? Why so much? The 2011 Pan Am Games cost only $750 million in Guadalajara and that was three times the original budget. The 2014 Asian Games (which you mentioned as a big event) cost 1.5 billion.
