Re: Masters 2013
One note of interest...yes, Adam Scott is the first Aussie to win the Masters. But the thing wasn't shown live here, which seemed kinda goofy to me, considering how sports mad this whole country is.

I just watched the end of this game, and saw the play where Kobe went down. Nothing dramatic, so crazy twist or collision. Just kind of had his foot slide out from under him.Square Rob wrote:I don't see a guy at his age returning from a torn Achilles. Wow.

It's absurd how good the iPad app is. MLB is about 80% as good as this, every other live sports app doesn't even deserve to be discussed in the same breath. The Masters app on the iPhone is the shizznit. Makes the March Madness app look like child's play. For example...the March Madness app would s...

I don't know if I could have done the pharmacy thing...I worked at a drug store my senior year of high school, and it always seemed to me like the pharmacists mostly counted pills and typed up labels for pill bottles. There was nothing quite so delightful as an Ebert review of a really bad movie. I think he got a perverse kick out of dreaming up new ways to say "this movie sucks". For example, from his review of the movie "North": "I hated this movie. Hated hated hated hated hated this mo...

There's a big comedy festival going on this week here in town. Lots of performers. I got taken last weekend to see an Aussie guy by some mates. It was ok...not sidesplitting funny, but decent. I think I missed about 1/4 of the jokes, due to them being rather Aussie-centric. Last night I went to a &q...

I just watched the first half of "Survive and Advance" with my kids. Man, it's great. I had forgotten just how many games that team fell behind and won in the final seconds. It's staggering. And the characters - Valvano especially - are so compelling that it makes for great storytelling. ...

There must be a few other GoT watchers out there. What was the reaction to the first episode last night? Mine: 1-The scene with Tyrion and Tywan was brutal. 2-Joffrey is still the sniveling simp. Lady Margery is the "Princess Diana" type. 3-I would watch a spin-off starring the Pirate dude...

Kinda funny that Dave just dropped Tom Morello in there at the end of the list like he's some regular session guitarist. Is he touring with Bruce or is that just a few shows? There's a special level of lunacy in the Minnesota AD department. Remember they fired Glen Mason after going to bowl games for like 7 or 8 straight years. How'd that work out for them? One of the sports radio guys in Seattle used to say "Don't get tired of winning". Exactly what are the e...
