Re: Roger Ebert

There was nothing quite so delightful as an Ebert review of a really bad movie. I think he got a perverse kick out of dreaming up new ways to say "this movie sucks". For example, from his review of the movie "North": "I hated this movie. Hated hated hated hated hated this mo...

Comedy...stand-up and otherwise...

There's a big comedy festival going on this week here in town. Lots of performers. I got taken last weekend to see an Aussie guy by some mates. It was ok...not sidesplitting funny, but decent. I think I missed about 1/4 of the jokes, due to them being rather Aussie-centric. Last night I went to a &q...

Re: 30 For 30

I just watched the first half of "Survive and Advance" with my kids. Man, it's great. I had forgotten just how many games that team fell behind and won in the final seconds. It's staggering. And the characters - Valvano especially - are so compelling that it makes for great storytelling. ...

Game of Thrones....

There must be a few other GoT watchers out there. What was the reaction to the first episode last night? Mine: 1-The scene with Tyrion and Tywan was brutal. 2-Joffrey is still the sniveling simp. Lady Margery is the "Princess Diana" type. 3-I would watch a spin-off starring the Pirate dude...

I saw a .gif that was just the reaction of the Louisville bench (with Ware cropped out), and even that was too much for me.
