Re: Pots and Pans and such
I do sometimes have both available. I'm having a cookout tomorrow and am debating this very thought...do I grill the hot dogs (which is blasphemy, IMO) along with the burgers or boil/steam them like any normal, sane person would. Or give people the option? Really??? I always grill the hotdogs on th...

Grilled hot dogs and steamed/simmered hot dogs should be treated as two different dishes. I do sometimes have both available. Re: Temporary Television
Just saw that the only good non-sports, non-documentary, live-action show currently on TV, and easily one of the top five all-time (along with Doctor Who, Star Trek TOS, X-Files, and The Sopranos), will begin filming next week for season 14. :)

Since we've now gone in this direction, does anyone know any Davids under the age of ~10? Neither of my kids have been in school with one yet. Seems like every boy is named Conner these days, which sucks because every Conner I've ever met has been a complete shithead. Lots of Liams, too. My nephew ...

Chris Rock put it best. "Shaq is rich. The white man that signs his check is wealthy." Everything is relative, I guess. If you want to distinguish between the top half a percent of Americans and the top quarter of a percent of Americans. Yeah, I'm quite certain Shaq classes as "wealt...

Re: Random thoughts/images/shit that makes you feel old thread
He new Star Trek movies have been really good, imo. Saw the first in the theatre. Standing on its own, it was certainly more than fine, but I am heavily biased towards the original series and its cast. ETA: Much better than the God awful TNG movies though. I never understood that, because TNG as a ...

I’ve not spent that much money total on cookware in my life. I still have a pan my grandmother gave me when I went to college because “ that’s he pan I liked my hot dogs cooked in” Whether or not they make any kind of difference, I haven't a clue. I think she just liked the look, honestly. But I am...

Re: Random thoughts/images/shit that makes you feel old thread
Just realized today that it has been nearly 27 years since the final Star Trek movie (as you can't call any movie Star Trek unless it stars Shatner, Nimoy, and Kelley), and the greatest quote in the history of cinema, from Christopher Plummer as General Chang: Oh, now, be honest, Captain... warrior ...

Looks like Deontay Wilder may fight Tyson Fury. That would make some sense, as Joshua does not seem especially eager. In spite of my affection for British boxers (I had two different avatars featuring Prince Naseem Hamed, after all), I don't blame Joshua; despite some supposed evidence to the contr...

When did Joe Rogan become a Nazi? What? Which? How? I listen to JRE fairly often, and find him entertaining and mostly not wrong, if a bit peculiar. What did he say/do? Picture on Twitter with him hanging out with a bunch of right-wing, neo-Nazi-lite guys like Ben Shapiro and Jordan Peterson, etc. ...

Short of getting injured or punching a kid, don't think it will matter as far as his FA deal. Elite players just don't come onto the FA market in their age 26 season. I bet that 10 to 15 years ago, that .216 AVG would have. But I agree, front office types nowadays are much too smart to over-emphasi...

Re: MMA
As a general observation, has anyone else noticed that the UFC is barely recognizable as MMA anymore? I watched UFC 217, after having not watched a UFC card in some time, and was struck by the fact that most of the fights resembled boring kickboxing matches, with an occasional easily-defended (and r...
Re: MMA
I think I have seen this ...... before ... Less than zero interest in that fight. Even when both were in their primes and dominating the UFC, they were nowhere remotely near the level of their contemporaries Wanderlei and Saku in PRIDE. And now they're old. The UFC was quite bush league back then. ...

He’s a better Micah owings. I will never understand why he wasn't converted to a position player at some point. He was a well below average pitcher (91 ERA+, 4.95 FIP), who showed pretty good potential as a hitter in admittedly limited PA (106 career OPS+)... IIRC, the Reds wanted him to switch to ...

He was a CF in college, and raked there. He's a legit threat with the bat.

So...Michael Lorenzen is doing cool weird things for the Reds. A 214 ERA+ and no HR allowed through 23 1/3 IP. Impressive. Though his FIP is 3.48, and the 3.9 BB/9 and 4.6 K/9 are fairly alarming, so there's probably more than a bit of smoke and mirrors there... You’re missing the point. Huge dong ...

Durant officially staying with the Warriors. No surprise at all there, despite Stephen A’s ridiculous made up story about LeBron texting him.
