Re: Old Timey Music for Howard and DC
Fun fact: Steve Cropper played on at least one Velvet Underground record. Talk about range. Rick James was in a band with Neil Young. ETA and he was introduced to that band when jumped on stage and sang with them after going to a bar after a fight. He was rescued from that fight by Levon Helm and G...

Re: NBA Playoffs 2015
Watching the Spurs play against the Clippers, I really think that Kawhi is one of the 5 best players in the NBA. He won't sniff the top-10 of the MVP race because he's not a 20+ ppg scorer, but his offensive game has improved so much over the past 2 years. When you combine that with the fact that h...

Re: Old Timey Music for Howard and DC
Is amazing that some British bloke that's ok at guitar gets great players around him, while the actual god of guitar has to play with half wits. I do enjoy the rawness of the Band of Gypsies. The funkiness and the power of Jimi are what are enjoyable to me. Would I put it on to listen closely? No, b...

I just watched highlights of Celtics/Cavs game on ESPN. 1:55 of highlights. No Celtics offensive plays shown in a pretty tightly contested game, I know that the Celtics aren't what they used to be, but c'mon.

Re: NBA PLAYOFFS SWAMPCRASH - SIGN-UP THREAD
Pretty sure a Pistons-TWolves finals would be pretty controversial Timbercubs with Ricky Rubio versus Josh-less Pistons with Mr. October would be a massive draw. To up the ante, the loser would get the winner's lottery pick. If I was the GM of the TWolves, Zach Lavine would have started from day on...

Speaking of AAA baseball. sad that I don't have time to catch a Twins game this week.
Seats can be had for 6$!
BTW, anyone ever up here I highly recommend getting a beer or two at Surly. 5$ for a pint (or 10 oz of the big beers) and really really good food.
Don't worry BSF Summit tomorrow.

Working Man is a great great tune (and play that Diane Sawyer tune.) Used to be my get home from the shitty early-20s job, crack a beer and put my feet up jam. ETA: Rutsey wasn't a bad drummer (or a good weight lifter,) but Dr. Peart just blows him away. oh, and this a grand tune as well. https://ww...

You may also want to check what classes the REI is offering. I've taken a couple great first aid classes. They typically offer how to, identification classes and the like, usually for free, or a minimal fee.

Make sure you set up the tent, try the stove, etc. before you get out. Nothing like trying for the first time when it's pouring, the kids are hungry, etc. etc.
