Re: Happy Inauguration Day (and beyond- The Biden Presidency Thread part I)

The whole point about taking the time to publicize the bill is to try to avoid a Republican Congress in 2022. Nate, seriously. Think of all the gloom and doom things you've freaked out about the past six months that did not come to pass. That should teach you something. Yeah, this was such an impor...

Because he has a national address to the nation scheduled for tomorrow and he sees the need to sell this bill to the American people. He couldn't be sure it would be done today, so they cushioned it. Re: Happy Inauguration Day (and beyond- The Biden Presidency Thread part I)

Jeebus, man. It's two days. Save your vitriol for something a bit more meaningful. You're going to have a coronary. You do realize UI expires, right? Plus states will need time to to implement the new extension. 2 days don't seem a lot, but when millions are going to have their claims expire and ma...

Manchin is killing the Dems and the relief bill.. He is almost like a Wrestler doing a heel turn.

He is now supporting the UI til June, 300/week, no tax exemption. If Dems cave to him, they are done.

Re: Random Politics

I think that the hyper speed of the news cycle and people's reactions have sped up to a ridiculous level. The new administration has been in power for 7 weeks and some are already saying that the Dems are finished. Deep breaths... With voter suppression laws, SCOTUS huge conservatives, and Dems bei...

Re: Random Politics

Joe Biden got 7 million more votes than Trump. However, he really only won by 43,000. Based off redistricting alone Republicans are going to gain in the House next year. Meanwhile, Joe Manchin would rather be a cunt. Sorry I can't be more optimistic. After this COVID bill gets passed, I wouldn’t be...

Re: Random Politics

Adam Schiff just said on Chris Hayes if Dems don't pass a voting rights Act, Repubs will control everything for the next 10 years +..

I agree, but seems like lying and being pussies could cost the dems just as much.

Re: Andrew Cuomo

Down the line how much can this effect Trump from getting a State Pardon. Especially if Cuomo resigns. There was a story about this and it sounds silly, but with it may be tougher to convict Trump now in NY. I'm no legal expert, but that sounds like nonsense. I thought so too, but I can't see how t...

Re: To the extent it comes up: Trump crap post-WH years

Dems better start working to go against all the voter suppression. Cause I see Trump winning if he runs in 2024. The Dems had to work their asses off to beat him. Abrahams, Beto, and others worked tirelessly to get people to vote. Trump talked for 15mins at rallies and got 75m votes. What scares me ...

So what happens if one of Biden's nominations don't get the votes for confirmation.. Does he then just chose someone else to go through the process again?

I don't see Neera Tanden getting the votes.
