Re: College Visits

Ugh, I'll be doing this next year with my eldest daughter. She's got her heart set on McGill, though the thought of having her an eight hour drive away induces panic attacks in both my wife and myself. Also, I am patriotically opposed to the French... ;-)

Re: Getting the spins

I listen primarily to a mix of 80s goth and new wave, and classic rock, but I'm also rather fond of some of the modern (primarily Scandinavian) metal bands. In particular, the Greek/Swedish "melodic" death metal band Nightrage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JsLwYnpxwkE https://www.youtub...

Re: The OFFICIAL Craft Beer Thread

I am finding more and more that I prefer the feeling after 3 or 4 glasses of a good whiskey or scotch than I do after drinking the relative amount of nearly any craft beer. I certainly feel better in the morning, too. There has to be a reason as to why that is? I've never been much of a beer drinke...

Re: Jeeves can't remember if we have a Credit Card thread

The only card I use, I got under a program from my alma mater's alumni association. Under which program, the alumni association, not me, receives benefits the more I use my card. Yeah, I'm that clever... ;-)

Bang on, southwestern Ontario by way of Brighton. I've not met Pruitt, though I'm sure he's a fine gentleman. ;-)

Re: Kevin Spacey's Career?

I've lost the ability to be surprised by anybody on this. If a person (a) has a dick, and (b) is in a position of power, there shouldn't be any surprise at all. Disappointment, anger, disgust, sure. But not surprise. I'm still continually surprised, honestly. I have a), and I suppose have had b) in...

Re: 2018 NBA Offseason Thread

ESPN has a big piece on the Kawhi split with the Spurs a a few weeks ago and it’s pretty complicated. Kawhi’s official story is that the team tried to rush him back from an injury. But the team thinks he’s just using that as a pretext because his new management team wants him in a big media market....

Wonder if there's anyone available this offseason to replace him who'd like to come to a strong team with a stable front office. Based only on the publicly available information, I wonder if Kawhi hasn't made himse...
