Re: Swamper on the scene: Heat at Cavs, 3/20/13

Yeah, great post, Bapo! The Swamp doesn't get enough long-form posting anymore. I'm with you on the NBA Experience. I find all of the extra crap really cheapens the game. It's like they know the game itself isn't entertaining enough. And the thing is, it could be, but all the fake cheering, loud mus...

Re: NCAA Tournament thread - Play-In games and Round of 64

Is Harvard going to win an NCAA Tournament game? Craziness.

I find it funny that Mizzou has maintained their tradition of underperforming in the tournament no matter who their coach is. (In fairness, they are only an 8 seed, but still.)

Damn, that St. Mary's game got interesting in a hurry. Would have loved to see that last shot go in for Dellavedova.

And we're rooting for this Davidson upset, right?

Re: NCAA Tournament thread - Play-In games and Round of 64

Something to remember is that Stevens is an Indy boy. His family is here. He has built a solid program here. I listen to radio interviews with him all the time. I don't think he is a guy who is going to chase the big money. And I don't think Tom Crean is going anywhere anytime in the near future. I...

Re: NCAA Tournament thread - Play-In games and Round of 64

Is Brad Stevens not going to move on to a bigger program, unless the Hoosier job opens up? Coach K's replacement. There's a very strong sentiment for that around here. Some people think it might be a contest of whether Roy Williams or Coach K retires first - whoever gets first shot gets Stevens.

A co-worker just stopped himself mid-piss to pull out his wallet to try and pay me for the office bracket pool. I didn't have any change on me. Hope he washes his hands before he makes it down to my office later. How do you stop yourself mid-piss? Once I start, I can't stop, although I guess I have...

"don't tell me the score" For people who want to see the highlights not knowing what is going to happen or how it ends up. When I clicked through, I picked a game and it took me to a page with the score in 40 point font (along with highlights, stats, etc). Is it just that the scores aren'...

DC, I'm actually with you on dunks in general. I especially fail to get why people get so worked up about "getting dunked on." In many cases, the guy who got dunked on was the only defender with the balls to actually try to stop the play. I hate that it's considered a bad thing to not conc...

Re: NBA Thread

Our difference of opinion may come down to this. I think dunking over a player who is 6-10 inches shorter and 50-80 pounds lighter from five feet away is actually something that dozens of high school and college players can do pretty routinely. I've watched a lot of basketball in my life and I have...

I hadn't seen the dunk until just now. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fm_t6OfBF7Y I don't think that was nearly as good as DeAndre Jordan's. And no, there most certainly are not many high school kids who could throw down a dunk like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NTkN2q6sUUk That's just ridicu...

This is a very cool piece on where the best basketball players come from and where they go to college . That's an article I always meant to do on my site, but never got around to it. Second, Scottie can we make the phpbb icon up there click through to the board instead of the list of boards? There's really no reason to go back to that board listing, because we only have one board.

Not at all, but the free market is very efficient. If nobody is doing something, 99% of the time, it's because there isn't a market for it. Very few successful companies or products were the first into their market.

There are sites kind of like that for various design work. Folks can bid/offer ideas for web design and logo design. There are probably others by now. It's gonna get murky when UVA loses to NC State on Friday. UVA seems to always suck in the ACC Tourney, and State always plays better. UVA would have been better off if State had beaten FSU on Saturday, putting UVA in the #5 seed. They'd have had an easy win over VT on Thursday to further boost thei...

I'm trying out one of the other skins. It's all kinds of blue. I found the default green a little washed out.

I haven't gotten over the avatars on the right though. Is that an admin option? I ask, because I have never seen a message board with avatars on the right. That's just odd.
