Go to any airport terminal and you'll see this happen ...

We are taking a cross country trip this summer and will be in Denver for overnight and 6 hours to spend in Denver with teenagers (so no breweries). Any ideas on where to stay and things we have to see? I had some great pizza and ice cream at Sweet Cow Ice Cream in Louisville. Very family friendly a...

IIRC, we're supposed to get 3.5 minutes of totality at my house. Really looking forward to it, even though there's a high chance it will be overcast when it happens. Lots of clouds in early April in Cleveland.

Not a golf person....but damn, does Augusta look amazing in hi-def on a big screen TV. I’d love to know how many golf maintenance employees they retain to get the course ready. It has to be multiple dozens. It doesn’t look like there are any misplaced blades of grass anywhere. For comparison’s sake...

Re: Phones & Cases And Such
I've been using an air vent magnet in my CR-V for years and never had a problem with it. My phone case already has a metal plate on the back so a magnet-type holder will be fine. But the vents are in a tighter spot in the Highlander and it blocks my view of the phone. The CD tray is in a perfect loc...

Has anyone ever tried a CD-slot phone mount for their car? If so, does it work well? I'm thinking about getting one for my new-to-me Toyota Highlander, but I'm not convinced these types of mounts hold up well. Here's one model I'm considering:

I don't have an electric car, but one suggestion is to see if your garage has 220V service running to it. If so, then you'll be able to recharge your car pretty quickly. If not, upgrading your service to 220V can add several hundred dollars to the cost.

IMO, if you're building a new house, you're better off spending more money on a better/stronger foundation, better roof system (i.e., architectural shingles) and insulation. You'll save money on heating and electric and have fewer problems in the long run. It's also much cheaper to renovate the int...

I was in Bennington, Vermont for work during the 2005 fall foliage season. Unfortunately for them, they had the worst foliage season in 50 years that year. Sabo, how likely are there to be new settlement cracks in a 95-year-old house? We've had a couple cracks in our walls develop in the last year. The cracks are generally vertical, but they are new and appear to be expanding. (FWIW, we had an earthquake two years ago that wasn't strong enough to knoc...

I'll second Sabo that it's crazy to skip an inspection. I've heard a lot of sales in town were going through without inspections, and it's just madness. That's mostly because the housing market is so nuts right now. Houses are in such high demand that sellers will almost instantly take any offer th...
