Re: NBA 2014-15 Thread

I think the death of the mid-range game is hardly a farce and is instead a byproduct of teams playing a much smarter brand of offensive basketball. Unless your shooting percentage is 150% higher on midrange jumpers than on 3s, it's the most inefficient shot in the sport. I'm sure guys like Kyle Kor...

Re: Why Do Local Cops Need Camoflauge?

Maybe only the lawyers and psuedo-lawyers are truly outraged at this. I cannot underscore enough how illegal what Chicago was doing - or how corrosive it is to a functioning democracy. If the last 13.5 years have made anything clear, it's that a huge number of Americans believe that Constitutional ...

Why do I get the feeling that Netanyahu speaking to Congress (this is the invite where Boehner went behind Obama's back and broke that law from 1790-something, right?) is a big fucking deal in that it will galvanize politics even further? Earlier in this thread, Shirley commented about the relative lack of posts about college hoops. Not sure what the cause of the lack of posts is, but I do think the overall quality and watchability of the college game is the worst it's been in a long time. To me, the average NBA game is far more enjo...

Crazy NBA trade deadline today. Miami and OKC are both shaping up to be dangerous 7/8 seeds. Miami has no depth, but Dragic, Wade, Deng, Bosh and Whiteside is a nice starting 5. ETA: I did read that Atlantic piece on ISIS, and it is not very deep nor useful. I sort of agree with Gunpowder that King's stance here may be as much about Lewis as it is about Sharper. I'm sort of curious about how this would be going if the QB were Cutler. Would it still be 100% coach's fault or would it be closer to "its a bad call but your QB cannot put the ball where a defender has a play". On this point, one of my co-workers is a former D-I QB and backup in the NFL...

Might as well talk about something non-controversial... Does winning the Super Bowl change Brady's place among greatest QBs?
