St. Marys won't go away. Playing that good ol' Judeo-Catholic ball.

ETA: Memphis settling for jump shots. Prevents you from winning.

Re: NCAA Tournament thread - Play-In games and Round of 64

Whoa, whoa whoa, stop the clock! The Wichita State coach makes $1 million in base salary? It wasn't that long ago that I made more than your typical mid-major hoops coach. At least that profession had their salary keep up with inflation. Shit, iirc Ben Howland's first contract in Westwood had a lowe...

(The End of) Journalism Thread

The craptastic reportage of the Cyprus situation made me think of renewing this topic. Then the below piece crossed my radar. We got plenty of sports related craptasmic examples to discuss as well.

Delladanova and St. Marys completely dictating pace v Memphis State so far. We'll see if/when athleticism asserts control.

Re: NCAA Tournament thread - Play-In games and Round of 64

The color commentator for this Wichita State-Pitt game is having a stroke over a flagrant foul call. Yes, it's an unfortunate call, but really, chill the fuck out. It was two shots and the ball. In the first half. No ejection. What's the big deal--he elbowed his opponent in the face. Lots of words ...

Coach K's replacement. Man, that just ain't right. Makes sense, but I love Stevens; I don't want to have to hate him. (I actually liked and rooted for the Gminski--Spanarkel--Banks pre-K Dukies. Beating Notre Dame will earn a place in my heart like that. I'm sure you liked that team, AB. But so muc...

Re: The Sweet Science

I don't have an opinion. I've tuned out of the business/TV side of the sport these days. I have noticed Showtime upping the frequency of their telecasts. HBO and Showtime have been too focused on the big PPV matches, and neglecting the quality of their monthly (give or take) shows. Last week was an ...
