Re: NCAA Tournament thread - Sweet 16

To avoid seeing that nauseating replay again, ima gunna change channels. To The Walking Dead marathon on AMC. During the game will be ok but I'm definitely not watching halftime. I don't believe CBS will show it again but I'll find out by the reaction on twitter. I'm switching over to golf. edit: d...

3) I think there was a Duke Player leaning on him, in the air, and coming down with him (and I am not gonna look again to check; I could be wrong). Just a little extra force from the other player could make the crucial dif. No, it was just him. He had jumped by Thornton who had shot (and made? I fo...

For you guys too young for Joe Theismann, same injury. Doctor: How does a leg break just by landing on it, didn't seem like there was much force. Theismann had LT pulling him down. Reminds me of watching a raptors game a few years back and Garbahosa landed on someone else leg, but that was an ankle...

Re: NCAA Tournament thread - Sweet 16

Here's a discussion I've been having, um, elsewhere on the Internet. When you're tied and the other team has the ball for the last possession, I think there are some situations where fouling (or at the very least pressing and accepting the foul as a possible result) is the right call. You may give ...

Re: The Jarome Iginla Switcheroo

Well, I'm pretty sure Iginla would be harder to trade if he weren't an expiring contract. That actually worked in Cal-Gary's favour. I've always thought it was easier to trade a existing contract (preferably with 1 year left) so that it's not giving up good prospects for just a 2 month rental. Do i...

Absolutely fallen off the map. Has there ever been an opening day pitcher optioned to Single-A the following year?

Re: The Jarome Iginla Switcheroo

Because Iginla picked his deal.

When you trade an expiring contract to only one team you can't expect much.
Feaster would take the Boston deal over this one but Iginla has the final say.

No-trade clauses really handcuff teams.

Re: The Jarome Iginla Switcheroo

Iginla's a Hall of Famer who's lost a step. I know the Penguins play with a lot of speed so he might not be able to keep up at first. He still has the shot and is an amazing winger who can still win puck battles along the boards and he can fight, although he probably won't need to in Pittsburgh. I t...

LA were never in it, trade to a division rival? (next year). Media got this wrong from all angles.

Philly isn't on the list because they have fallen on hard times and are fighting to get into the playoffs. Iggy wants as much of a guaranteed of a cup run as possible. I guess that means the Pens out of the dealing for Iginla? You never know, Pens still have cap room. I've always thought Iginla is going to Boston or Philly. I believe Joe Morrow would go to Dallas as part of the deal for Brendan Morrow.
