I don't buy the explanation that it was just a knot and it had no meaning. I've worked in several jobs as a teenager where they had industrial garages with a rope attached for a pull. The purpose of the rope is to give you something you can reach when the door is fully open. They always had a small ...

Just passed Shartlesville. I doubt they have an Along Came Polly festival every summer. I'm not sure how I missed the Shartlesville callout. I grew up 10 minutes from there. For years my birthday request was to go to Roadside America. That town is weird. Hasn't changed in 75 years after you get pas...

We released our plans for fall. It's similar to most others in the Northeast in that students do not return to campus after Thanksgiving. Our fall plans require that everyone on campus wear masks walking on campus and in classes. It's really anything outside of private offices and dorm rooms. On Sat...

We had our inspection results last weekend. They had some nonsense on the list that we rejected like replacing one of the original basement windows. The stuff we did commit to doing was replacing some GFI outlets that didn't work anymore, modify some downspouts, level the heatpump, etc... Total cost...

I don't know what we're going to do, but there's a lot we can do like setting up a mentorship, job shadowing and internship program with a STEM high school in St. Louis to internal education for our cracker-ass employees from small towns. A lot of college students had their internships get cancelle...

I expect we will do something similar to BU for the main campus. Enrollments for the summer have been up. Fall is looking good as well. Getting students enrolled is just part of it. With a budget of $7B with $2B from tuition there will need to be students/visitors at the campuses along with usage of...

Our cleaner comes every two weeks. The cost is based on how long she spends cleaning. Typically it's around $120. We Venmo'd her $100 and said we would continue to do so until things cleared up. Based on her response I don't think many others are still paying.

Grad school is a completely different beast. I don't see a reason why most grad degrees can't be online. CSU has a great online program. The group that runs it knows their stuff. Georgia Tech is one I've considered for a data science master's degree. Cheap and high quality.

I think online university degrees will be the big change. My wife was obsessed with MOOCs like 10 years ago. I did a couple courses, too. A refugee cannot just cross the US border, that is indeed a crime. Refugees have to seek asylum and stay in the Mexican border town refugee camp that is already in place to house them, as dangerous as that is, and wait to receive the call to enter the US. By crossing the border, a refugee has in fa...
