Why is it always "porn star" and not "porn actress?"

Sometimes you get actors who aren;t referred to as being "stars."

And is there a category of "Porn Character Actors or Actresses?"

Are there things you are absolutely against?

time of year?
outdoors or indoors?
under or over 100 guests?
local or destination
traditional or modern?
buffet or sit down?

you may not want to be involved but do you parents want to be?

I was at my work Division Xmas party last night....food, open bar, bowling, pool tables, and karaoke.

One of the VP's of the company got up to sing, and his song was George Michael's "I want your Sex". Hmmm....yeah, it was awkward. Sorry, but if you have to say "I hope HR isn't here" before your karaoke performance, you may want to switch to something a bit less problematic.

And I just had my first holiday party investigation. Cross-claims of sexual harassment as the male COO and a 23yo female employee went to a bar together after drinking at the holiday party. And the same day, I got a call about another holiday party that will definitely need investigating, and I'm requesting assignment. My colleague who consults the client is extremely sarcastic and can be crude (in an appropriate way while telling me about her clients) called me to tease the case. Male CFO of a large client had a list of sexual acts, including nibbling the ear of another male employee (they are both straight). I love the holiday party calls.

Came back to work this morning and instantly realized I can't do this same fucking bullshit for even another four years, much less 14. Wife and I have been talking but not making any serious action towards moving, so we talked this morning and we're going to center everything around moving after the election next year. I would be due for four bonuses at work during that time (we get them bi-annually at end of May and November) and the weather here starts to turn shitty around that time too.

Gives us a few months to finish paying off all bills (other than the mortgage) and start saving "real", liquid money. Hoping the real estate market doesn't crash in the next 18 months. Should be able to clear about $150K (after seller fees, etc) from the house and should be able to work 20 hours part-time at work at about $25/hr from Thailand which will pay about 80 to 100 percent of all living expenses ($1500/mo if we're living frugally, $2000/mo if less so).

I thought you wanted to go to South America.

Regardless, that sounds awesome. I know of many people that retire to the Philippines or Thailand because everything is just so damn cheap there.

Only person I know who went to Thailand (other than a vacation) went for a year to teach English, and 20 years later, he is still living there. No idea what he does now, but he eventually married a Thai woman and has a kid.

Maybe this should have all gone in the Things That Make You Feel Old thread. Nobody under the age of 35 even knows what a plantar fascia is.
I've had plantar fasciitis on and off for years. Luckily, mostly off now. But fuck it hurts.
I had a fascia sprain/strain or something and the doctor was pretty clear about "you really want this to be a one time thing and not chronic". Brutally painful, like where before I knew what it was I basically stopped walking because I was convinced my foot was broken and I was breaking it worse with every step.
Feels like it’s back, although not half as bad, and like 8 years later.

As long as we're whining about feet... One of the issues in my aborted time as a mailman was that one of my feet was killing me - it felt like there was a pebble on the ball of my foot, just below the second toe. I thought it was a bruise and would heal quickly - but it didn't, and now four months later, it is still a bit of an issue. To be sure, things are a lot better, but I'm kind of shocked this has lingered so long.

I get irrationally annoyed when I put something in the microwave at work and the person who used it before me just opened the door before the timer was done while not hitting cancel.

I have the same issue. I had someone do that while I was waiting to put my food in and it took everything not to snark at her as she walked away.

It's kind of like leaving the toilet seat up.

I downloaded the nytimes crossword app a couple of years ago and absolutely love it. I pay to have free access to the archive, and have been working my way through all the Friday and Saturday puzzles starting from 1998. It’s been a great time killer. I used to do that one, the wapo, and the latimes each day but now just do the nyt.
Great crossword clue I saw yesterday (though not in the Times because it's mostly garbage):

I get annoyed by people just leaving time on there, regardless of how much. It's not something that fucks up my mood or anything, but it's just a little thoughtless. I hold doors open for people and let people get off elevators first. I'm not trying to be a white night, but I have to pretty constantly remind myself that not everyone was taught manners.

(Don't get me going on people that start entering an elevator before you are able to get off first. Animals.)

Last year, I was late for a flight and was pretty stressed out... Tried to get on the shuttle bus before people had exited - total brain fry. Woman looked at me and said, "Sir. We need to get off first." Cool as can be.

I was fucking mortified. Still bothers me today.
