She's gone. Missed my shot. Although coincidentally one of the literal heirs to the Croc's fortune also just came in. She happens to be stunning and I asked her out a few years ago which she agreed to and then cancelled :( (Maybe should go in the irony thread but she's a fashionista and would never wear those things)

One of the things I wanted to do when coming to Korea again was getting a bunch of custom suits made.

Accomplished. I got 13 of them for when I have a "real job" after the military.

Each came with a button down shirt and tie. I feel like an adult.

Occasionally, when scrolling through the guide on TV, I will see an auto-racing program called "FIA Karting". I have never once not transposed a couple letters in my head upon first glance.

It probably goes beyond "life after the military" type of jobs for me too.

My dad was a tailor and he wore the suits he made. Plus, my military blues are of such shit quality as a 'Class A' uniform that I want options when I need to wear formal outfits.

Plus, it's an opportunity thing. No way am I getting suits of this quality for the price I paid in America.

There was a brief period in my life when I actually owned two suits and a blazer.

One of the perks of being a writer is having an annual clothing budget of $100-$200 depending on how many pairs of underwear are needed.

I don’t know if I’ve owned 13 suits over the course of my entire life, and 3 of my jobs required suits 4 days a week. Put on a suit last week for an interview, first time I’ve worn a suit in two or three years.

I threw my kids batting practice today and they decided their team was the Bulldogs so I said my team was the Bigger Bulldogs and it got me wondering if pro sports has actual set rules in place about team names or if it’s closer to our government’s standards and norms where if enough owners hate another one we could have the Cardinals playing the Cardinal Killers or something.

The biggest thing is probably the ability to own the trademarks.amd right for merchandise. When Baltimore had a CFL team they started as the CFL Colts. However they lost a very expensive lawsuit and became the Stallions (despite the NFL letting the trademarks and such lapse on Baltimore Colts for the relevant categories.

I am pretty sure the league gets approval on branding choices too. They probably send all of that to a committee and then the full board for approval.

Solid move on the suits. Sit around long enough and styles come back around. Even if not the Barney thing would fly these days. Question is will you remain the same size long enough to get value? Hope you picked up on some of those tailoring skills.

I'm sure they do - Art Modell could not have been pleased when Paul Brown chose not only the same initials as the Browns, but the same colours when he founded the Bengals.

Was just told by a judge in a Zoom pretrial that all contested hearings in her courtroom are going live again as of next Monday. She was also giddy to add that masks were optional too!

Actual live jury was ready for the picking in Fulton Co. the Friday before Memorial Day. Wrote up special voir dire and jury charges and argued and decided motions in limine. Real deal ready to go. Needless to say we sold out the clients to jump in the water and celebrate first post-covid holiday. But there was an actual trial ready to go in Superior Court. How the hell we jumped the last 18 months of murder cases I have no idea. I think it was punishment to the lawyers for acting stupid and need for a guinea pig trial.

I've gained weight over this last year like so many and made sure that the suits had a little extra room.

As for the skills, oddly enough they came in handy when having to sew back on a button to my uniform once so long ago. But it's a perishable skill and I haven't had to sew anything for a very, very long time.

Incredible video. What causes the ball to move, is it hitting pockets of air currents or something? Absolutely crazy movement, and painful watching the catcher. I feel like I'd want to turn the glove down on most of those pitches and play it more defensively.
