Its a two couples (our oldest kids are friends so we are now too) chat, and we're close enough that there's no damage since the explanation (meant for a lawyer friend who defends awful people) explains it away well enough.

So a friend has had a song stuck in her head for days and I've been trying to help her figure it out, but it's from one of my dead periods in listening to popular music. She thinks it's from 2009/2010 and the chorus goes something like "I was knocking on your front door and you were dancing on your back porch" and it also may have some mention of a yellow dress. Male singer and slow until that chorus.

I have some recollection of a country song that I think might be similar but my google-foo is not picking up anything. Any Swamper have an idea?

I'm trying to Google any and everything I can with the info you have, but I don't see a song with those lyrics as they are typed.

Kinda tough with the misinterpretation of lyrics.

Best I can figure is a Dierks Bentley song called Back Porch, but I've never heard it and don't listen to country.

Just bought tickets to the Ween show in Denver later this fall. My brother just notified me that the rescheduled Primus show (doing Farewell to Kings) is the week before...the Thursday before the 2 day Dead & Company run. I"m gonna need to start doing coke.

During our big movement last month (sending people to Alaska for an exercise), I referred to all of the passengers as "breathing cargo" and all of my leadership can't stop laughing at it weeks later. It's kinda funny.

They see it as a joke, but I seriously hate people being in this job and was saying it as a pejorative.

What's up with Sinema's dress/right leg here? Also kinda surprised she isn't wearing a coat.

Saw a picture of her the other day and her outfit looked, hate to say it, quite booby.

I did an image search and she seems to dress like this all the time.

My twice-weekly pickup basketball game resumed last night. I am pleased with how reasonably well I feel this morning.

I couldn't shoot for anything, but what surprised me was how completely mentally out of it I was from a basketball IQ perspective. First time I brought the ball up the court, it was like my brain was on overload from trying to process about what half the guys were doing on the court.

Excited to find out my mother-in-law's visit has been bumped up about 48 hours... to arrive sometime tomorrow.

Not upset about the visit, just annoyed by the short notice.

A few things I've discovered in visiting my parents this week:

- My father doesn't trust google maps. I was running an errand for him, and he insisted on writing down the driving directions before I left.

- I was telling him about a Pride seminar we had at work (yeah, I don't know what I was thinking), where a trans person talked about why stating your preferred pronouns matter (it was interesting!), and he was completely dismissive. He said 'if we got in ww3, we would lose because everyone is too sensitive about things'. I countered with the fact that there are trans people who want to serve in the Military, and it's been Republicans who want to keep them out, and a trans person can stop a bullet just as well as anyone else.

I then changed the subject to baseball.

- They have stopped watching FoxNews. They watch the ABC nightly news, and then the local news, and that's it. They do still get the Colorado Springs newspaper, which is basically FoxNews in print form.

Dave, you gotta quit walking into bullets. My parents were visiting last week, and it was a stressful job avoiding politics the whole time. For the most part, I succeeded.

But at least they believe in vaccinations and will wear masks when appropriate- unlike my brother.

Yeah, I know. I did stay out of it when they were talking about the US women's hammer thrower who turned her back to the flag.

ETA: I have to give my parents credit though...they told me that they donated the stimulus checks that they got to a local food bank. They said they didn't need it, but other people did.

Sorry to nitpick, but the marijuana one kind of detracts from her entire point. The athlete's race is irrelevant, and the fact that the weed was legal in whatever state she used is also irrelevant as it's still a banned substance by the IOC. I'd venture that many of the PEDs banned by the IOC are legal in many states, some of them are even OTC, that's just a stupid thing to comment on for many reasons. I used to think it was stupid to ban marijuana as a PED, but it actually can be useful for training in a lot of sports, or as an anti-inflammatory (not sure if other anti-inflammatory drugs are banned). I'm all for legalizing weed, but the legalization status in a state is completely irrelevant for the IOC.

No idea how, but I somehow enrolled myself in Amazon Music Unlimited and have been paying for it for the last 3 months. ($8 a month)

I always hit "decline" on the option to upgrade when I open my Amazon Music app. And I always get the screen anyway. So I have no idea how this even happened. I use the free music with Amazon Prime and that's enough.

This shit was sneaky. Anyone ever deal with this?
