Pretty sure I saw a Delorean on the road this morning. Drove past me just before I turned into the parking lot here at work.

Interesting how "wearing a backpack at all times as a tourist" has morphed from a young person thing to an old person thing.

When I first travelled internationally ~10 years ago, it was a thing for people in their 20s to just walk around with all their shit in a backpack. Now, that's a standard thing for the 55-60+ crowd too. Plaid shirt tucked into Dockers, baseball cap, backpack--that's the official "late middle age person in Europe" uniform. I think they issue it when you board any international flight out of Phoenix.

One event in Douglympics V was penalty kicks and I made a save I wish I hadn't made. We were kicking way too close. So not a literal case of "baseball finger" this time.

Sidenote, my event was the 40 yard dash......FIVE POINT ONE SECONDS. It hurts to see the ravages of age summed up so bluntly.

Yes. It moved around like a harrier and a helicopter at times. Part of it's show was in tandem with an A-10 warthog, which was also badass. Then, the Blue Angels put on a hell of a show. Same show on both Saturday and Sunday, and we got another day of practice on Thursday from the Blue Angels. We live so damn close to the base, it was hard to avoid.

Going to air shows are awesome.

Working air shows is a senseless fucking terror.

Pretty awesome that you got to see the air show without actually having to deal with the tens of thousands of people. Double win.

Been playing in a 40+ league for about 6 seasons. There's one very strong team, then 5-6 evenly matched teams. The strong team has been undefeated every year. We've played them close but always lost. Tonight we beat them. By 15...and moved up in the seedings so miss them until the championship.

We were out hiking today, and when we got to the top, there was a group of loud obnoxious people, drinking champagne, and acting like drunken yahoos. As we were hiking out, that group broke into two smaller groups, and were yelling 'Marco.....Polo' back and forth to each other.

So much for a walk in the nice quiet outdoors. Fucking idiots...

My opinion is that it matters where you are hiking. If you're on a popular trail or summit then you basically have to expect that type of stuff. As long as they bring all those champagne bottles back out with them I don't have a problem with it. If you're super backwoods and people are being assholes, that's another thing.

Exactly.

The behavior at the top (the champagne, etc)...while annoying, was more of a 'well...its a popular spot, what can you do' moment. We went and found a different spot, away from them, to enjoy the view.

The yelling 'Marco...Polo' on the trail though? That's way over the line.
