I received a FB Messenger message from my brother’s father-in-law containing a pro-Trump video featuring Charlie Kirk. So, without any other reply comment, I sent him one of the many good anti-trump videos (done by a veterans group about the bounties.)

I’m hoping that gets me off his distribution list.

Serious question even though I already did it...is it cool to post a song on Facebook with the N-word all over it?

I found a video I don't remember making on a Youtube channel I think I made accidentally of my kid when she was first trying to stand but then didn't in slo-mo to the Geto Boyz.

I think it's funny.

Thinking about using Pogo’s verse on 2Pac’s “I Don’t Give a Fuck” as the backing for my daughters softball highlight video? Shaky idea?

I feel like if you’d taken the 90 seconds necessary to look up that verse you could have worked with me and not against me here.

It's surreal to come across and actually interact with people who defend and lionize assholes. But, here we are.

That was off a community FB group that is apparently comprised of anti-vaxxers, anti-5Gers, and High Vibration people.

I muted my Aunt for 30 days....which ended yesterday.

She's gotten worse over that time.

In all fairness, why not just defriend her? I’ve defriended a lot of people over lesser reasons.

Tougher to do that with family than general friends/acquaintances

I was hoping that she'd be posting things like pictures of grand kids and what not, instead of nothing but 'Trump is Awesome!" memes.

I probably will just unfriend her. Its too aggravating.

You could just Unfollow her. Has the same effect as unfriending in that you won’t see her posts, but she doesn’t know you did it and still thinks you’re “friends”.

Agree on the unfollow. I had to explain to a person I Unfriended why I did it. It was a bit uncomfortable and they aren’t related to me. Still glad I did it though.

I'm unfriending people now for the slightest of offenses. If you like the comment by the racist asshole who got mad because I posted a video of a white man going off on a cop with nary a response by the cop, you're unfriended and if I see you in the store and you ask why, I'll gladly tell you. It's only awkward to me if it is family which is why I just unfollow. Dude I was friends with in high school, I'll tell you it's because you're a racist prick.

The whole idea of social media is that you're mostly supposed to be able to curate your feed to be of your own interest. Why so many people don't use it that way is beyond me.

Yeah, I blocked my racist cousin 4 years ago when he started posting a steady stream of clearly fake hit pieces on Obama and Hillary. This was before we knew it was Russians creating the content, but most of it was so obviously not real. Anyways, I completely forgot he is on FB. I'm on the verge of blocking his one daughter I FB friended. I kind of liked the idea of connecting with family, but fuck, it's just a steady stream of anti-Cuomo and anti-DiBlasio crap. Mostly comment section on various Long Island TV news and newspaper posts. If the comment sections are any reflection, Trump will carry Long Island by 30%, easy.

On the flip side, I accidentally sent a friend request to someone I went to HS with. Got the surprise notice of "Person accepted your friend request. She was in my homeroom every year from 7th-12th grade, nice girl, but never saw her outside of homeroom. I would have pegged her as a Trump supporter, just because she was from the trailer park side of town. Horrible to assume that, but when I do see posts from the people I grew up with from that part of town, it almost always holds true. Anyways, seeing her posts has been a pleasant surprise. Lots of "I never cared about politics before, but Trump is so horrendous, I have to care." She is legit hilarious, too. I planned on blocking her, but if she is bringing the funny, she stays.

I just deleted Facebook to avoid all of this. Of course, I'm basically a hermit and now I'm even more isolated than I was before, so YMMV.

This. One thing that keeps me on there for now is that my son's lacrosse team uses it for team announcements and shit. Also, I don't want my mom wondering what I'm using instead of Facebook and accidentally finding Twitter. She won't like what I post there.

Yeah, that could be a problem. My mom follows me now. I'm not worried about political stuff, but I feel bad swearing now.
