My wife's family was very much into the country music and she wasn't exposed to music in other genres until later in life. I popped this in one of our early roadtrips and she was like "this is great!!" I mean it's only regarded as one of the best albums ever, but ya.

A little too much of Jakob Dylan singing, but it was interesting and old footage of Michelle Phillips is always nice.

Ya, I think the update F'd in swamp playback. Listened to John Phillip's first solo album today.
Here's Uncle Tupelo covering Iggy and the Stooges' classic, "I Wanna Be Your Dog". I love how they interplay country twang with moshpit thrash metal. Jeff Tweedy on vocals, Jay Farrar on guitar.

They're in Magical Mystery Tour when the Beatles visit the club. Formed on the same show that spawned Monty Python, and Vivian Stanshall (the lead singer) was the narrator for Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells.

I always thought the Intro/Outro was a parody of the end of Tubular Bells - but it predates it by a number of years.
Between the death of Andy Gill and the idiot's "speeches" of the last couple of days, this song has been slamming around in my brain.
