So, video poker isn't 'skill based'? (I know, just trying to be funny)

Well, it really is, but only to a small degree. And the casino hold is defined in the pay tables, so at least they're up front about it.

Actually, I've thought that if I ever did gamble, it would be video poker since it requires a certain degree of skill and unlike table-card games you don't have to deal with some bourbon-soaked sociopath glaring at you for hitting too high and "stealing" his card.

It's time for end of year gifts from casinos, so my wife is a little happier about my video poker play for the year since in the last two or three weeks we've just been given two cruises (by two different casinos), a $500 Dooney & Burke(sp-?) purse and a $200 Swavorski (sp-?) gift card. Kinda funny that most of the gifts are stuff that women would prefer -- not sure if that's a reflection on the demographics of gaming or what.

Yeah, was thinking about that. It's a win-win for the casinos. If you turn down the gifts then at least the gift receiver feels good about having been offered it. You have to actually go to the casino to receive the gift.

Unless your religious beliefs forbid you from gambling, I find this statement nearly impossible to be true. Do you mean you've never done any of the following?:
Bought a scratch ticket
Played Powerball or any other mass keno game
Entered an office NCAA BBall pool
Made any kind of bet for any amount on the Super Bowl or other sporting event with friends/family
Played a home game of poker for any stakes
Entered a Sweepstakes
Bought a raffle ticket
Made investments in stocks (this is not all-or-nothing like sports gambling but you can lose value which is gambling)

Perhaps you meant casino gambling in which case fair enough. Gambling permeates our society whether we want to admit it or not. If you truly have never gambled, more power to you.

I was in Vegas over the weekend (with a big group and no time to try to meet up, Brian), and I actually ran a net profit on my gambling! Because for once, I never hit the tables. I did make eleven money-line hockey bets, and won seven of them. Of course, that was but a drop in the bucket compared to the money spent on dining and drinking.

I got comped a room for Thurs-Sun though it's at Harrah's. If you guys are going to be at the usual place, I'll probably try to meet up with you later on Friday or on Saturday. I'm talking to my host now and she might have some free passes to the viewing party at Planet Hollywood (free food & booze) which I can share with you and/or Rams Fanny if he can make it up there. But I won't know that until closer to the tournament.

Lana Kudryavtseva is a -140 to win the rhythmic gymnastics gold if you're wondering. France is a clear favorite to win the men's handball gold medal.

What's the easy website to use to gamble online? I wanted to put money on Nunes last night but the only way I know how to gamble is to walk into a sports book. I'm not going to gamble all the time because i suck at it, but it would be cool to see what I can bet on.

Edit: Also, I can't find it when I Google, but what would a parlay of Cubs to win the World Series plus a Trump to win the presidency have been? I heard that Trump was +600 in some places, but the Cubs started to become favorites as the season went on. I only ask because Fritz's Tweet with Leicester, Cleveland, Cubs, and Trump was spot fucking on. So I'm curious.

Might be different for a Canadian, but I used Bet365 and it was great. When it was time to cash out, absolutely no issue. And their website's a snap.

Hmm. I went to my buddy's house to watch the fights last night and he was streaming a feed from the UK. One of the commercials was for Bet365. I may have to try it out.

It was this one:

The Cubs were always the favorites, but you could've gotten them at around +660 on opening day. They were down to +240 at the start of the playoffs and -190 by the start of the World Series.

What about when they were down 3-1?

Just used a parlay calculator on a -190 & +600 parlay. Those together will get you a +968, roughly. That would have been a crazy washer to make.

I'm not sure what the odds fell to when they were down 3-1. The Cubs were easily the best team all season long, and had their pitching set up well to come back, so they probably were a significantly smaller underdog then you'd typically see for a team down 3-1. (They were the individual game favorites for all three of Games 5-7.) But I'd guess you could've still gotten at least +300 on them at that point.

Getting archived series prices is a bitch, but Chicago was about +200 going into Game Six. I don't remember their price down 3-1 but it would have been +300 at least. Probably closer to +350/+375

So, the Packers to win the Super Bowl are +900.

I need to put $100 on them, stat. I can't find the bet on bet365. Can a brother get a link?

Or, Brian can I give you $100 and we can do this the old fashioned way?

Edit:

Nevermind. Found it. Packers are now +450. Still a good bet, imo.

Play to resume at 8:00 wow

I'm in 1st but guy right behind me has Upton and Judge. If either reach base I'll get bumped. There are a few guys further back with Sanchez and others...they need something bigger like double+run scored.

So I need to dodge these. 12 straight outs would be nice.
