Asking for an aquaintance.
You've loosed some good kids on the world, dude. Anything else is just the cherry on top.

So I will play a bit of the devils advocate here. Yes I am thrilled that so many swamp offspring seem to be doing well. That’s awesome. And to be commended for all parents. But I also get tB’s general situation. Sure if your kids are doing great it makes you feel good. But it doesn’t take away different kinds of sadness or depression. Everyone wants the kids to be better than them. But I think it’s ok to want better for yourself too.

My job is to loose my kids on the world ready to chase dreams and hopefully find success. But when I’m an empty nester in a few years, I’m going to want to have my own life to live too.

Just trying to say that getting the kids out there is not the only point. It’s important but there’s life after too where we gotta figure our own shit out.

Stop rubbing it in. Most of us made a mistake or two and we are serving 18-30 years while you are living in paradise.

I'd father a half dozen kids with my wife if we could surround ourselves with people who never used the term

Sure. And of course you can't talk anyone out of depression anyway. But TB talked specifically about feeling that his life has not amounted to anything. I think we're pointing out facts about his life specifically to show that it's amounted to at least *something*.

I don't think anyone is saying that having kids is the only worthwhile thing in life. And absolutely you have your own life to live as well.

Same here...no human kids but just because I have pets they are not some sort of emotional replacement.

Coming out of something today... Lasted about a solid week where I could barely get anything done.

Decided to come into the office and work for the first time in almost a year and it's doing wonders. Work tasks that seemed daunting are just... tasks today.

Glad you're feeling better too. It's so nuts how quick it is to fall into a rut and not realize you're even in one. "Fall into a rut" covering all manners of depression in a generic way.

Glad you're doing better. While work at home sounds nice, there's just a better groove and feeling being at the office.

Glad you are doing better. If it helps, you are comfortable, and you have interest in playing some outdoor soccer, let me know. Playing at 7:00AM in McLean may not help with the tiredness but does wonder for feeling good. We go full field 12-12 with offsides and probably get you on as a guest when space is available generally we cap 28 people for the game each week (especially as a goalie where we are generally lacking solid options). Level of play is pretty good.
