Im not sure but probably not. That's the one drawback, you have to watch sports live (which I generally prefer because i get texts during the games that matter to me anyway) but it is a real issue.

YoutubeTV has unlimited DVR, is $35/mo, and includes live sports. Not sure what it does for sports that last past their normal record time (baseball, football, etc.), but it's great for hockey and soccer where you more or less know when the game will end.

I really like it, but the authorized channels vary by location, so for example, I don't get any NBC live, but I can record and watch later. That's just a Tampa thing though.

I'm with Shirley. I have DirecTV. I don't need an antenna, I watch almost everything on DVR. I sense I am being abused, but I don't want to switch and find out I'm compromised and/or can't get channels I value (NHL Network for instance).

Is it true DVR, like you can DVR something and start watching it 10 minutes late, or is it you have to wait until it's over?

Unsure about NBC stuff, but for all the other channels (without this restriction) you can start at 8:10 for an 8:00 show, and rewind back to the start.

For example, (and not the NBC answer), when I go to the page on my browser now, there are three options at the top of the page, "Library", "Home", and "Live".

Library has all of the things I've recorded.

Home has six or so smaller insets with recommended live channels for me. Each of these insets is showing live TV, but not playing sound, unless I click on it. Below that is a list of things that I've started, but not finished, watching. Then recommended shows, movies, games, etc.

Live has only things that are live right now, and is basically a channel rundown similar to most cable or satellite providers.

Not getting any Kathie Lee and Hoda in the library yet. Looks like it's only on demand after it's over.

I borrow my friend's cable password to access sports on NBC.

We have a Tablo, for over the air DVR. Works really well. I think there's a monthly fee to unlock all the features, but we bought the lifetime subscription when we cut the cord so we didn't have to deal with that.

We run all our streaming services through a Roku, so I can't vouch for other hardware/devices. We bought the Table hardware with 4 tuners, I think (https://www.tablotv.com/products/tablo-4-tuner-ota-dvr/). And bought a 2TB hard drive to connect to it. It comes with 1 day of guide information for free, to get 14 days you need the subscription ($5/mo or $150/lifetime). I think the subscription comes with some other features too. The Tablo was fairly new when we bought it, so it felt like a little bit of a dice roll, but we haven't had any problems with it at all.

Startup might be a but pricey, but it's pretty much a one-time cost. We did this we when moved and cut the cord and bought everything (Rokus, Tablo, indoor antenna, etc) all at once, going from $130+/mo for DirecTV to $50/month for various streaming services. So despite the initial outlay of cash, we made up the difference in less than a year.

So you plug your Roku into the back of that thing? Or is that just for your OTA shows via an antenna?

And how do you connect the Tablo to your TV?

The Tablo is just for OTA shows. The antenna is connected to the Tablo, along with the hard drive. It takes an ethernet connection and talks over the wireless network to the Roku, which we use to watch live tv/recorded shows from the Tablo. It also works completely via wireless, but we have an ethernet connection by the TV we can use for it so I didn't worry about it. There some more useful information here: https://www.tablotv.com/setup-networking/

Agreed that its very good,

but I fucking hated how Ric Flair shows up for the first time for completely off-tone dick jokes. Just a fucking terrible creative decision. We all understood what was being said without being said about women being interested in meeting Andre. Felt like Simmons pulling the "I'm the executive producer, it's staying in" because he likes Ric Flair making dick jokes.

We'll see what they say when I call back later this afternoon with Spectrum's offer as leverage. Spectrum is offering 400MB internet and seemingly every TV channel on earth for $150 per month. Go hard or go home. You’ve got to be willing to walk away from the deal to let the used car salesman know you’re serious.

And besides, just cancel it and send back your equipment. You’ll get a significantly better offer in the mail within 10 days.

Or, just cut the cord and go with Hulu Live.

I can't do that, unfortunately. Well, I could, but I'd go crazier than I already am when it comes to my job because of the delay in streaming. It already drives me nuts when satellite is 10-15 seconds behind people live at sporting events.
