Bombers QB Drew Willy out 6 weeks, and they may lose every game without him (although they may have lost every game anyway). Complete lack of adequate coaching systems on both sides, along with a still-shitty O-line. A 24 year championship drought in a 8 (or 9) team league is embarrassing enough, but the rate at which they don't even make the playoffs is borderline unbelievable.

Yeah, Ratto compared the RedBlacks' ownership to the Warriors', so that got me on board.

anything is better than what they had before, the previous reincarnation of football in Ottawa were the Renegades owned by the Gliebermans (father and son). You should look up those guys.

Greg Wojt is not the first CMU alum to get his name on the Grey Cup (if that's a thing), but he may be the first person ever born in Poland to.

Ratto was tweeting from Winnipeg all week. Not sure how he ended up with the gig, but for once he wasn't such a sourpuss. I guess he genuinely enjoyed himself, which is really rare for Ratto.

Happy Canada Day, guys.

I happened to see this live (I turned the TV on and it was still on ESPN2 from the Poland/Portugal match earlier).

That's Cris Carter's kid.

h/t to a Deadspin comment for highlighting this from the official league write-up of the game:
Montreal clawed its way back into the game at 7:41 of the third quarter; quarterback Kevin Glenn found receiver Duron Carter, who took a hard hit but hung on to the ball, in the end zone for the hosts’ first major.

Carter’s consequent celebrations sent him barreling into Ottawa head coach Rick Campbell; after a dust-up and some gentlemanly group discussion, Carter and Ottawa defensive back Jerrell Gavins were both ejected.
I felt aswirl with warm secretions.

Fun to imagine the conniption fit Joe Buck would have if that occurred in an NFL game he was calling.

This is how important the CFL is in Toronto.

Perfect weather today - mid 70s and sunny. This is the Argonauts' home opener.

40% at the home opener, crazy.

Can the CFL do anything to solve this?

Toronto's been a dead zone for the league for 25 years.

Also, the league doesn't have a commissioner. I think they pay minimum wage...

BMO field is a great stadium. Beautiful day, summer sunday and the Argos get less than half of what Toronto FC gets in March in the freezing rain.

The 50/50 for Grey Cup 2017 is already over $100,000. I repeat, already over $100,000.

The game on ESPN2 has the qbs micced up and you hear all calls at line of scrimmage. Sure NFL coaches would love to see that on Sundays.

No they didn't which is funny because the announcers claimed they were on a 7 second delay.

Great finish. Not sure how Montreal doesn’t throw ball in end zone there though.
