I know there's only a handful of pro wrestling fans on the Swamp, but I hope those fans caught the Daniel Bryan vs. Antonio Cesaro match tonight. It was one of the best WWE matches I've seen in a while.

Jim Ross has retired from the WWE. Probably the greatest pro wrestling announcer of all time, although arguments could be made for Gorilla Monsoon and Joey Styles.

Tonight's end to WWE Raw was the best ending I've seen in a long, long time.

Truly, Sabo, that was awesome.

My son has become a wrestling fan since I gave him all of my LJN wrestlers from when I was a kid. He knows a lot of the 80s wrestlers from 40 or so wrestlers. Bought the Wrestlemania Anthology set (#s 1-22 are in the set). Now he watches Raw and Smackdown after I DVR them. This whole WWE Network deal is coming along at the right time. My head would have exploded as a kid if I had something like that. My big thing was the Wrestler, Inside Wrestling and PWI subscriptions.

Anyway, he's going to flip when he sees that Kofi beat Orton, Orton went after Cena's dad and then the refacing of Daniel Bryan. #Markout.

Love this stuff. My interest died after about 90/91. Then I got back in for the Attitude Era. Then went away for a bit. Over the last year, I have gotten back into it. Primarily due to my sons interest. We went to a house show a month or two back. Sat 3rd row. When I was a kid I went a lot (monthly shows back then) and never sat that close. He asked if we can be in the first row next time so he can slap hands with the guys. Not sure how that's going to workout. But we'll see.

He told me that he's not interested in being a wrestler, he wants to be an announcer. Thought that was an interesting take for a 6 year old. Being an announcer wouldn't be a bad deal. I think the early Wrestlemania's convinced him the announcers are cool - Jesse Ventura was one of the best that's for sure.

Growing up, I watched some pro wrestling, but I wasn't fanatical about it. I mostly watched Jim Crockett Promotions, with a little WWF mixed in. Magnum T.A. was my favorite wrestler, but I loved watching the Four Horsemen work as well. When I got to college I stopped following it entirely, but got back into it in the summer of 1999 when I shared a house with someone who was a HUGE wrestling fan. He only had two rules when I moved in ... I had to smoke outside, and he had control of the TV every Monday night. I started watching it with him, and I was hooked again.

Oddly enough, I've only attended one live wrestling event in my life, and that was last September when WWE Raw was in Cleveland. There were three things about watching it live that struck me. The first thing is the sound. On TV, when someone hits the mat hard, the sound of the impact has a high pitch. But live, it's a very low, bass-like sound. The second is the lack of commentators. I enjoyed the show a lot better when the announcers aren't talking over it. And third is the sheer size of some of these wrestlers. Seeing someone like the Big Show in person (even from more than 100 feet away) is astounding. Raw is coming back to Cleveland the night after the Royal Rumble, and I already have my tickets. I can't wait to go back.

I'm giving some serious consideration to getting the WWE Network. I'd love to go back and watch some shows from the old territory days, especially Mid-South Wrestling and Florida Championship Wrestling. I've been listening to Steve Austin's and Colt Cabana's podcasts, and both like to talk about the history of pro wrestling and how its evolved from the territory days. It's fascinating stuff.

I'm also liking the idea they'll have all ECW, WCW and WWF/E pay-per-views available. I saw several ECW PPVs but want to check out the ones I missed. And being able to go back and watch Raw from the Attitude era will be a lot of fun, especially after learning about some of the stuff that was going on behind the scenes. There's a lot worse things I can do with $10 a month than give it to the WWE for access to their gargantuan video library.

And TTB, if your son wants to be a wrestling announcer, try to find Steve Austin's podcasts with Joey Styles. Styles grew up wanting to be a wrestling announcer and not a wrestler, so he might be able to glean some advice by listening to the podcast.

Dammit, now I have to watch this. But I also need about a month's worth of setup. I stopped watching wrestling when I enlisted over 12 years ago. 6 weeks of basic training later and I'm watching it in my dorm's day room and I couldn't figure anything out. I poked in and out over the next 5-8 years but I haven't seen an episode of anything since then. Your reactions plus the WWE Network being only $10 (!!!!) a month for everything is pulling me back in. Problem is, my internet is capped and I'm having a hard time figuring out my AFN box.

Money. Fools. Soon parted.

People Are Making Tons of Money Betting on (Fake) Pro Wrestling

In gambling, just as in most of the rest of the economy, if there are people making tons of money, there are people losing tons of money. For each and every winner on a trade, there is an equal and opposite loser.

This guy...just caught up to live action after pausing for a bit to put kids to bed.

My son was allowed to stay up until 7:30. No action in first half hour but he was pumped to see those three in the ring. As was I.

I made up the time during the battle royal. Happy to see Cesaro get it. Know that well deserved push is coming.

Was hoping for a Wyatt win. Thought Cena was going to crack there.

No shot for Lesnar tonight...just want an awesome match. We'll see.

No way Bryan doesn't win tonight. Should be fun.

Sabo - catch that show last night? Never thought I would enjoy it as much as I did. Jake really laid it out there. Mr. T was incredibly awesome off the unintentional comedy charts. The razor was solid. Warrior was bumbling, stumbling and shouted out DiBiase (I was rolling) and was happy to hear him bring up Bruiser Brody. Wish someone would have started that chant while Colon was on stage.

Can honestly say this WrestleMania is shaping up to be the best ever. The Daniel Bryan-Triple H match was fantastic, and the Cena-Wyatt match was extraordinary. So far the worst match is the Taker-Lesnar match, and that's just because the pace is so slooooooooow.

Was pleasantly surprised to see Cesaro win the battle royal. His ascent to becoming a top guy has been astounding. I'd love to see him pull out some other moves he did in the indies, like the Ricola Bomb or the UFO. The UFO makes the big swing look like chump change.

ETA: This Taker-Lesnar match is getting much better, but damn Taker looks ancient. He should retire.

I caught a little bit of it. Saw the DDP-Jake speeches and some of Mr. T's. Agree with the Mr. T comments ... It's obvious he loves his momma. I have the WWE Network and will probably watch the whole thing sometime, especially Ultimate Warrior's speech. I hope it's the absolute train wreck it should be.

Cesaro is stupid strong. Glad to see him make it.

Can't wait to see the main event. In the interim, looking forward to seeing Nicki Bella's cans strutting around during the diva match.

Standing O. If he was going out, should have gone out undefeated. Besides disbelief, not sure what that does overall.

Here are my best guesses to explain why the WWE ended the streak:

1. He's retiring and wanted to end the streak. I think the only two people who would have any input on how the streak ended would be Vince McMahon and Taker himself. In a way, it makes no sense for Taker to go undefeated. His legacy is cemented regardless of the streak, so why shouldn't he give someone a rub? Lesnar is a curious choice, though.

2. So far, Lesnar is the only heel to win. There should be a mix of heels and faces winning matches at a PPV, and I don't see a heel winning either the Divas match or the heavyweight title. ETA: And naturally, a heel wins the Divas title.

3. The whole point of pro wrestling is to get a reaction. I'd see the WWE absolutely created a reaction by having Taker lose.

Absolutely on #3.

I remember the days when the champ was always introduced last. Booking Batista was a horrible decision. Pushed Punk out the door.

Batista is a chump. I never cared for him. And yes, he has no business being in the final match.

Read a comment somewhere re split decision and Bryan gets a title and Batista gets the other. A duel cover? How would that work?

I think there's a greater chance CM Punk comes back tonight than that happening. WrestleMania isn't noted for screwy finishes.

And just to show how much of a chump Batista is, he's wrestling in Air Jordans.

Hogan at Jordan's on earlier. But a halfway decent pair, not Batista specials.

I don't mean to dog on you guys. Entertainment is entertainment. But, I'm amused at all the shock and surprise across the interwebs about the outcome of scripted, staged theater.
