This is probably the best take down of the WWE I've ever seen.

WWE is now on Fox. And tonight it's this ginormous event.

And since it's on Fox, there's NFL crossover. Erin Andrews just interviewed Kofi Kingston.

Pretty sweet.

I enjoyed Smackdown last night. There are tons of people that are up in arms about the squash at the end. Love seeing Luke Harper back in action.

Please stop watching WWE, at least until COVID is over. My fucking numpty governor named WWE an "essential" business, and they're allowed to continue to film in Orlando, like they did for Wrestlemania a few weeks ago. DeSantis' move to add WWE (not directly named, but clearly aimed at them) to the list of essential businesses came on the same day that Linda McMahon donated $20m to Trump 2020.

Their roster was bloated anyways. The only ones getting much TV time was Gallows and Anderson. Hopefully EC3 finds a place that will use him correctly. Same goes for Sarah Logan.

I just wish they would shut down and furlough all their talent. Just rebroadcast great episodes of RAW, Smackdown, and Nitro. They own all that shit. People would still watch it and be entertained.

Don't worry. I think I've watched maybe 20 minutes of WWE programming over the last two years. I prefer to watch AEW or New Japan Pro Wrestling.

DeSantis' order clears the way for AEW to start doing lave shows again in Jacksonville, so that merits watching.

The performers get it on the way out. Their likelihood of getting hired by another promotion is about zero, even when the pandemic is controlled. There may be a couple who get snapped up, but with AEW having essentially a full roster at this point, there is no space there.

Meanwhile, McMahon is able to keep up his pre-pandemic profit projections in time for today's quarterly stock call. I think Meltzer tweeted it would take about $2.1 million to keep all those performers on the books for three months. By the way, WWE looks to bring in over a billion dollars this year for the first time ever... with the pandemic happening. Their live shows allegedly lose money, which would mean the pandemic is making them more profitable.

Just putting it here since this thread has been bumped recently.

Damn, that sucks. He was the WWF's first employee, if I remember correctly. He's also one of those people where you know his voice but don't necessarily know his name.

Not really. As far as I know only Andre and Macho are dead. Plus Miss Elizabeth and the Brain. But they didn't die in a plane crash that killed the entire roster and coaching staff.

All four performers had roles they played exceptionally well. I also really enjoyed how red Dave Hebner's face was getting from the up-downs from all the false finishes.

The point isn't that the wrestlers are dead. The point was that is was a reference to a tragedy where a whole team of college basketball players died in a plane wreck (except one that wasn't on the plane, but he died in an car crash two months later), along with the coaching staff.

The watch along started with the Steamboat/Savage match. So looking at those matches, only Miss Elizabeth and Andre were dead before 50.
