BTW, fucking Arizona St??!!

I saw them play Northeastern 2 years ago and they were HORRIBLE. That's an amazing story (they are #10 PW right now.)

I've randomly bitched about this on this board, but MN St. being rewarded for it's #1 seed by having to fly (literally) half-way across the country (bullshit #1) and having to play Providence in Providence (wtf #2) is everything that's wrong with the NCAA playoff hockey format.

Always nice to see Ohio State lose. St. Cloud St. vs. Denver ought to be a beauty.

With no Michigan schools, rooting for the teams with VGK prospects so this year that's Denver, Clarkson, Providence and Bowling Green.

2026 Frozen Four awarded to Las Vegas/T-Mobile Arena.

ETA: Because the NCAA, the 2023 Frozen Four is in Tampa hosted by the University of Wisconsin, the 2025 is in St. Louis hosted by the University of Vermont and the 2026 Frozen Four is in Las Vegas hosted by the University of North Dakota.

America.

Why wouldn't they let ASU host the Vegas event? They've put some coin into that program and went from a joke to a playoff contender in remarkably short time.

I think when I went a few years back here in Tampa, U of Alabama Huntsville "hosted".

IN 2009 the Naval Academy hosted the D1 Frozen Four in DC....which did not have a varsity ice hockey team. I think it is more about who is willing to do the organization work and willing to take the $ risk for hosting the event.

Really good game on right now between Denver and Michigan.

The amount of talent in this game. Denver has 12 players who’ve been drafted. Michigan has 13, including 4 of the first 5 drafted overall in the most recent draft (and 7 first-rounders picked in total).

1-1 right now in the second period.

Congrats to Denver University Pioneers, NCAA 2022 National Champions.

Have I mentioned recently that my father played hockey for DU in the 1950s?

As a huge MI fan, but with a kid (eventually?) matriculating from DU, I was conflicted this weekend.

MI with arguably the most talented college team in history, but they played conservatively and lost to a very very good Pios team. Happy Denver sealed the deal in the end.

Not really sure where to put this, but Holy Shit did MI hockey have a crazy summer.

Bottom line is they just shitcanned Mel Pearson as HC because... List of a bunch of stuff from a high powered DC-based law firm about him fostering a toxic lockerroom and work environment and being a big ole shitty liarface.

Just named a 37 year old as interim HC. We'll see how it goes.

BTW, the guy is Brandon Naurato and he is pretty much universally respected for his player development and potential coaching acumen. One year trial run for a guy that in many circles (apparently) is tapped as the next big thing.

Yeah, Brian and I noted things in The Athletic thread a bit ago.

Kinda sucked that Pearson essentially ran off his stud goalie for questioning him.
