I had no idea the War spread to Canada. I really thought Canadians were smarter than this.

I can't believe Christmas won again. I thought we had it this year.

Ace Hardware made extra sure to work multiple utterances of "Merry Christmas" into a commercial for outdoor holiday lighting. They're safe.

A guy on my street already has a full ration of Christmas lights and decorations up. Way too soon, dude.

I have my Christmas lights up. I don't want to put them up when it's -20.

Disagree. I'm fully onboard with decorations going up on 11/1.

Once you consider they don't come down until after Christmas, that's like 1/5 of the entire year w/ Christmas lights. Its ridiculous.

So, with Trump as President, and a Republican majority in both Houses, does the War on Christmas still get a fuckton of play, or is it now safe to bring Christmas out of the cellars and for people to openly admit to being Christian?

Good question.

But no doubt Berkeley, Brooklyn, Cambridge or some other bastion of atheism and multiculturalism will do enough to get the soldiers for Christmas worked up again.

Because one thing we learned during the 8 years of Bush was that even when they are holding the reins of power, the right wing still has a lot to complain about.

Not to mention all 44 Presidents were Christian, and Congress is something like 92% Christian. It's tough being an oppressed minority.

If they're anything like my employees, it's because of some petty bullshit arguing and finger-pointing because either someone didn't help out enough or someone else is too demanding, etc. It happened with my team on Halloween and I'm not hearing it again.

Ha, one of the long list of petty complaints in a workplace investigation I did was that an employee decorated the office, but didn't decorate her desk. Harassment and racial discrimination are the ONLY possible reason this could happen. Couldn't be related to the fact that all of the desks that were decorated belonged to employees who stayed late to decorate the office. Nope, discrimination. People are so fucking petty.

One of mine complains about the money she spends when a) no one ever asked her to spend it and b) SHE GETS FUCKING REIMBURSED EVERY TIME.

I don't understand the penguins' tactic of climbing on top of rocks and falling to their death. Seems kind of wasteful, even when you have superior numbers.

IGWT was made our national motto under Jehovah's Witness, Eisenhower, in 1956.

"We are stopping cold the attacks on Judeo-Christian values," Trump said to applause, before slamming people who don't say "Merry Christmas."
"They don't use the word Christmas because it is not politically correct," Trump said, complaining that department stores will use red and Christmas decorations but say "Happy New Year." "We're saying Merry Christmas again."

The comment drew thunderous applause.

Heated debates over the "War On Christmas" have raged for years, with many on the right complaining that political correctness has made it less acceptable to say Merry Christmas. Trump has seized on these feelings, regularly telling primarily religious audiences that his presidency has made it acceptable to "start saying Merry Christmas again."

"You go into a department store. When was the last time you saw 'Merry Christmas?' You don't see it anymore," Trump said on the campaign trail. "They want to be politically correct. If I'm president, you will see 'Merry Christmas' in department stores, believe me, believe me."
