That has to be entertaining.

Re: 30 For 30
I remember arguing with a friend at the time that the US should have selected Daly for the 2004 Ryder Cup. Imagine him amongst that Detroit crowd. Instead they took 50 year old Jay Hass and Stewart Cink who's just blah. And he wasn't playing bad either. He was the 2004 comeback player of the year and i don't think he was that far from qualifying outright.. Maybe he could have played with Phil or Tiger instead of that disastrous pairing together. US got smoked something like 20-8.Ryan wrote:This should be great
He might be the only eligible major winner who's never played in a Ryder Cup.
Kung Fu movies are like porn. There's 1 on 1, then 2 on 1, then a group scene..

I've never hit delete on a DVR recording quicker. I'm not sure there's a topic I'd be less interested in watching a documentary about.

Right. How you feel about Biggio is how I feel about sports radio.

I am not sure this is a 30 for 30 but if you like hoops this should be good.

I didn't have any interest in that myself. But I wouldn't expect he calipari one to be far reaching either.
You know what you need? A lyrical sucker punch to the face.

I'm about 1000% more interested in this one than the Mike & the Mad Dog one.
Baltimore guys - Dunbar's a public high school, right? Is it able to recruit kids from around Baltimore? Or did those guys just organically and coincidentally end up on the same team?
Totally Kafkaesque

Up until 1993 Baltimore City schools were part of the MSA (now known as the M.I.A.A.). The MSA/MIAA is primarily known for being the private school league (Calvert Hall, Loyola, St. Paul's, Friends, Gilman). So even though they were a public school, they were probably able to do some cross boundary recruiting at the time. Now Dunbar is a magnet school.
Also just to see some alumni of a public school

Did anyone watch last nights on the Scabskins?
So the interesting question about no rings for the scabs (but they did get a 50% playoff share). Would be great to see Dan Snyder do the right thing and get the rings (even though it was Jack Kent Cook owned team). But Snyder doing the right thing is a rare occurrence.

If it costs Snyder more than a nickel it won't happen.

I can't remember if it was a modern day quote or one from the archives, or who said it (wasn't Gibbs, don't think it was Beathard), but one of the excuses given was that the NFL only allotted so much money for the rings and they couldn't afford to buy what more or less would have been two roster's worth of rings.
I felt aswirl with warm secretions.

The article attributes that to Jack Kent Cook's son....who was part of the group to receive the $800M+ estate when JKC passed away.

The article makes it sound like nobody is against the idea of giving them rings, including players who went on strike at that time. Including Doug Williams, that season's mvp and current team executive.

3 best parts of The Two Bills
3. Belichick's horrendous hair and mustache
2. Both of them refusing to go in the Jets locker room at the end because fuck the Jets
1. Pete Carroll's Shakespearean-fool-like appearance at the Pats press conference

I'll admit I miss him, but that news that tickled out yesterday was odd. He always insisted he wasn't retiring. Did he just overestimate his value on the open (non-NY) market?

Tri-state, probably. But he still follows and knows football, I'm sure someone could find a way to leverage his name to make it work out. He has historical baseball knowledge but its Yankee-centric and his present day takes are mostly listening to an uncle who liked it better 20 ye-ahs ago.

I couldn't have less interest in listening to Mike Francesca. Actually, I have negative interest. I'll choose something else.

Re: 30 For 30
Before podcasts, I needed something on the radio to distract me from the commute tedium. For many years, WJFK here in Washington had pretty great talk radio -- Stern, Don & Mike, Anthony & Opie (for a time), Big O and Dukes, etc.
Then they killed that and went straight up sports talk. It was OK, but I'm not a Redskins fan and over the years they pretty much morphed into just talking about the team.
I'm so glad podcasts exist now. I turn on WJFK and it's unlistenable now. Soooo boring.
