Guys, I’m embarrassed to admit this, but growing up in small town Wyoming we didn’t have bagels. So I don’t know how it’s officially pronounced. The G controversy in GIF has me concerned I’ve been saying it wrong.

Is it:

Bay-Gel
Ba-Gel
Bay-Gull
Ba-Gull
Bay-Hel
Ba-Hel

I’ve always thought the G was soft so have been saying the last one my whole life.

Though in STL, it's not Panera. It's called the Saint Louis Bread Company (and even then is just called "the Bread Company" by many locals.)

I mean, because it's what I do:

Dan Wolf, owner of The Bagel Restaurant in Chicago, dies at 77.
