Got my first last year, at 39, after agreeing with your last sentence for as long as I can remember. A design that means something to me, but was not executed exactly as I expected. Friend of a friend is a tattoo artist, and did a good but not great job. I'm very impressed with the stuff I see from Shamrock Social Club and Mark Mahoney in L.A. and the Bang Bang studios in NYC.

Bad sports tattoos are also eternal. I will never forget going to my favorite Boston sports bar about 8 years ago and seeing some Masshole showing off the tattoo he had on his upper thigh of Jason Varitek scuffling with A-Rod. Anyone with a thigh tattoo of a baseball "fight" is a better fan than I will ever be.

Okay, so I am a half-generation too old to really understand tattoos.

Some are really artistic and kind of cool, But having said that, allow me to repeat a very politically incorrect comment - if you've got a tattoo across your back, isn't it only there so your boyfriend can appreciate it?

"The session was the first of 12 required to remove the Black lettering, which the parlour is doing free of charge."

I've done the laser removal thing on my left calf tattoo with the intent that a larger piece can cover it without being seen. Without a doubt it's far more painful than an actual tattoo. I did two sessions and both required lidocaine, ice packs, and alcohol. 12 on your face is fucking nuts in the pain department.

A phoenix that was poorly done by an awful tattooer (my neighbor) when I was 18. It's barely legible, so I decided I'll get something professional now that I know better about tattoos.

And it wasn't removed. With two sessions it was faded considerably enough to get covered with proper saturation.

I think the part that disturbed me the most was this line:

The main concern is that the ink he's used is not your regular ink. It's something they've made in prison by melting down plastic utensils.

Holy fuck. Is that how inmates normally make ink for prison tats? That sounds crazy. Will laser removal even work for fucking plastic ink?

Was gonna get "Loves Cheeseburgers" done next week, but after seeing that, maybe it's just not the right time.

What a dumb fucking tattoo. Would "attentionwhore" not fit as nicely?
