I don't see this as any different than betting on the length of the national anthem at the Super Bowl. Everyone knows that bet exists, including, I'm sure, the singer. They can control the outcome.

If it's a problem and sports books get burned, well stopping taking those sorts of bets.

An added wrinkle that doesn't get mentioned in anything I've read or seen, is that the sportsbook in question signed a deal to replace Sutton's regular sponsor on the front of their jersey, and had signage all over the field. They said they lost a little on the prop bet, but that sounds like a very small advertising fee for worldwide coverage and name mentions. I'd be shocked if Shaw and the fine people at Sun Bets didn't discuss this.

The problem here is that he mentioned in an interview that he knew and a couple of his mates made a few quid. The super bowl anthem singer would never say that. plus the anthem is a 50-50 bet on a length, this was 8-1.

The odds hardly matter when the outcome is in the complete control of one person. It shouldn't matter if he mentioned it or not. How is he supposed to NOT find out a publicly available fact? You have to assume that players are aware of this stuff.

Red Bull has created a problem for themselves/UEFA. Apparently UEFA rules prohibit the same owners from having multiple teams in a competition.

FC Red Bull Salzburg sits atop the Austrian Football Bundesliga and RB Leipzig sits in 2nd in the German Bundesliga.

Canadian men's national team manager

Last full time manager of the Canadian team is now coaching in Costa Rica. Previous coach is apparently out of soccer. Coach before that is "technical director" of the Canadian team.Coach before that is out of coaching after an unsuccessful stint as Manager of Trinidad (and Tobago too.) Coach before that just led the Phoenix team to 13th place in the U.S.L.'s Western Conference...

In short, since the Canadian mens team seemingly relies on volunteers to coach the team, I don't think Ranieri will be heading to the great white north anytime soon.

Christian Pulisic just scored a beauty of a goal to give Dortmund the aggregate lead over Benfica. It was a very nice chip over the keeper who was closing him down.

Aubameyang just scored his second goal of the game, so it's now 3-1 aggregate.

Based on the short part of the game I caught in the 2nd half (3-0 and the Cavanni goal and the skate save against him), this does not surprise me. Barcelona should be required to play all games with a 2-0 or 3-0 deficit from the kickoff, because that is just fun soccer to watch. 8 to 9 players pushed forward passing the ball around like a basketball team.

The funny thing was that the 1st leg PSG were up 4-0 with 20 minutes to go and sat back scared of the away goal. They could have used another goal or 3

A good friend of my dad's is in the middle of a month long vacation in Spain and happens to be Barcelona this week. He didn't go to the game, but apparently last night was fun.

The first Yellow on Herrera was garbage. He just ran into him. The 2nd yellow may have been a dive. But when you are playing with a yellow and 15 seconds before the ref takes your captain and another player to stop fouling Hazard, and then you immediately "foul" (stuck his leg out behind him) Hazard, he has to pull the yellow.

That and ManU had fouled Hazard hard at least a dozen times by that point.

I agree that Herrera's second yellow was unfair (although it was JUST after the ref talked to the whole team about it), but the first one was not. Yes, Hazard ran into him, after Herrera ran in front of him and stopped, conveniently with his shoulder lined up with Hazard's chin. He knew what he was doing. It was very clear early on that Mourinho's plan was to try and break Hazard in half.

All that said, these last few minutes have me nervous.

I thought both with yellows. The first yellow card was a clear pick. He made no intention of stopping his momentum before he collided with Hazard. The second yellow was a pretty clear foul to me, regardless of whether the Man U team had been talked to right before the foul. He made contact with Hazard's leg after Hazard ran past. It was late and he made no contact with the ball. How is that not a foul?
