The warnings here were bad - I think people also freaked out because of what's happening in the Northeast, but not even an inch on the ground. We are under a "warning" with the potential of 2 more inches!

Sheesh - Is this Georgia or Ontario?

The forecast here called for 8-12 inches of snow through Wednesday afternoon, and so far we've received about three. So we're on schedule for the predicted amount.

I aways thought that the key was to slide step - trying to keep both feet on the ground as much as possible.

My son is being evacuated today... by me because his day care is closing by 3pm.

We've had our forecast go up from a predicted 18" as of last night to 24" as of this morning.

2 hour delay set last night then cancelled 45 minutes into it today because of ice. It is icy.

Nice timing, too.
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

Think I got 7 days in. This time last year I was getting in 2 days/week. Now it's like 50º on the mountain. Praying for one more dump but it's not looking likely.

I don't really ski much anymore, but this was the best season in the Sierras in well over a decade.

The Pac NW as well. Colorado started strong but petered early. It's freaking 63º right now on the Aspen slopes.

Last year I skied about 12 days, after several years off. I went during weekdays. I tried that again this year but couldn't miss work. And I was too spoiled to go on weekends.

Wettest Seattle winter on record. Which is quite an accomplishment.

And I rode my bike to work through all of it. Riding in the rain has lost its novelty.

Rained pretty much all weekend here.

Absolutely pouring at the moment with severe thunderstorms coming this afternoon. Rain tomorrow and thursday and heavy rain predicted for friday.

Definitely the worst spring I can remember.

"Heavy Rainfall Warning" for the area - rain to start late this morning and continue until... SUNDAY! 3-4 inches expected, and since the ground is soaked from a month of steady rain, flooding is expected pretty much all over the Toronto area.

Highs in the low 40s, but there could be snow on Sunday as well.

God damned ungolfable!

Just before I left for the gym (10 minutes away), they made a severe thunderstorm warning for the city. A couple of minutes into the drive, the sky opened up and I saw the start of a funnel cloud. Don;t think I've ever seen rain like that, and a tornado did form a few minutes later over the eastern suburbs.

That was nuts!

I gotta record a half-hour news show from Las Vegas to show you guys. They treat a 115 degree day as a hurricane-level event.

Almost the only time my wife and I watched the local news when we lived in Los Angeles, was during a heavy rainstorm that the local news dubbed "Stormwatch 2009" (or whatever year it was). The entire first segment of the 11pm news was going to reporters in four different parts of the city, including one who was someplace where it wasn't raining... but the runoff water headed to the storm grate was impressive! Before they went to commercial, the talking head at the desk said that a producer had called from the Beverly Hills/West Hollywood area (less than five miles from us) to say it was "hurricane-like conditions."

We had zero issues with our satellite dish reception throughout the night.
