Is it that bad already? Working on a project there and the client hasn't responded at all to a draft that the final is due for in 30 mins. Guess it's good to go!

If you see anybody gathering animals by twos, see if you can get a ride on his boat.

I was going to make a joke that we're expecting 0.1 inches of rain today (true) and then saw on Twitter there's actually real flooding in some parts of town (also true) so, eh...

(We're OK, though. Stay safe everywhere.)

Two to four feet of rain over a large area potentially (or 3 to 5 feet depending on the crazier models). But, seriously to you two, don't fuck around with this.

Is this the right place to mention that the idea of riding out a storm sounds like a lot of fun to me? Not with kids and not where I have to worry about home damage later, but just being in the middle of the event. (Either this or when I was a bank teller really wanting to get robbed has to be the dumbest scenario I've secretly hoped for.)

There is relatively little more fun than living in a dorm during a hurricane. No worries, all fun. A distant second is being in a southern snowstorm with the right person.

Heat wave in the Bay Area. Records all over the place. 104 in San Carlos both Friday and Saturday. Well above that in the east bay.

snow storm here

I get into work about 40 minutes late because of traffic. And the office is dark, so I look on the calender. Everyone is working from home.

Sigh, well now that i'm here I'm eating all of the cookies.

We're supposed to get the first real snow in the mountains tomorrow.

But as for now, it's just fucking dark in the morning. I believe today is the darkest weekday morning of the year - and it's so brutal for my 14yo daughter, whose starts school at 7:45, twenty minutes before sunrise.

Not a skier anymore, since my accident.

But I am a daily bike commuter, and I'm not looking forward to another long/dark/wet winter.

About ten years ago the Republican congress needed to have an energy bill. So instead of doing things like promoting solar power or encouraging a change away from fossil fuels, they did things like extend Daylight Savings.

So now DST ends one week later, and starts three or four weeks earlier, in March instead of in April.

I've been sleeping later these past two weeks and this is the only reason I can think of. the extra hour of sleep Saturday night after a long football day is gonna be great

You know it's a cold snap when it's snowing in Mexico.

(Also a reminder that Nevada means "snow-covered" in Spanish.)

Snowing in Atlanta? Fuck. We've had almost no snow yet, and nothing is on the horizon. This is looking to be a shitty winter.
