Listen, I totally understand this. But for the benefit of those who don't, maybe someone with better communication skills than me can explain what the fuck is happening out there in the world right now today thanks.

An excerpt from one of the top local news stories here:
Four teens allegedly used the newly-released "Pokemon Go" app to commit multiple robberies in St. Louis and St. Charles counties.... Police believe the suspects conducted multiple armed robberies by targeting their victims through the mobile game "Pokemon Go." They believe the suspects added a beacon near a Poke-stop in their location, which could lure more players nearby.

If anything, it's a welcome change to the typical shit in my feed. Much rather hear about/see memes for when you got a Snorlax than your opinion on literally anything else.

No, I have not downloaded it either. But, military bases seem to be great places to catch them all though.

My kids have been kind of Pokemon crazy for a few years now. It made absolutely no sense to me. I downloaded the app, and it is starting to make a little sense. It's a complete timewaster (and likely a cause of many injuries because of inattention), but it appeals to the urge to collect. I suppose it appeals to competition as well, as I think you can battle. I was thinking of using the app as a means to explore Tampa, as a lot of the Pokestops are at generally historic places. That being said, a lot of the local stops are at churches and strip clubs too.

This was exquisite trolling from one of Gawker's sites (it was posted on Deadspin but didn't originate there). The pic not being Pokemon was perfect - the somewhat angry responses made the trolling even better:

The author's response to the outrage with "Its Pokemon" in the various comments is also perfect.

I don't know Pokemon from Digimon from...well, whatever. But that was funny. Reminds me of that guy on either Grantland or Deadspin who tried to write the worst, hot-takeiest, sports column every week. The comments would be gold.

I wouldn't have (and didn't) know a Pokemon from a Digimon either, but, man, people sure do get fired up over that.

Also, this from the comments:
if you see someone intently staring at their phone while walking in public, sneak up behind them, and if theyre playing pokemon grab their phone, yell POKEMON BATTLE and throw it as far as you can

are you trolling your own article? please google “pokemon vs digimon”. I watched both shows. The Pokemon Go characters even have baseball caps and backpacks like Ash from Pokemon - which the Digimon kids up top do NOT.

(...and yes, I created an account SOLELY to set things straight!)
Yes the article is about Pokemon, however you clearly know nothing about it because you did in fact use a Digimon photo for this article. Maybe you should research a little better when choosing images.
Did any research go into that picture? Type “First Season Digimon” and you get that exact image up on Google. Sorry but you got the wrong game here.

Me: Dude. On my way back from Giant, there are, like, 20 kids gathered at this one spot, all with their phones out.

And Jesus you are your father's daughter*. :D

Mia: What an incredible game. Finally a way to get them getting some fresh air

just for a litte more context, we live in a cul-de-sac that gets very little foot traffic. Just a few folks that come through as part of their walk/jog. So seeing dozens of kids out and about, particularly up in our neck of the woods, is going to get her attention.
