I get disgusted by people who simply take their shoes off on the plane. Even setting aside the public decorum part of it, the carpet of an airplane is disgusting. Shoes always stay on.

I can't do it on a long flight. Feet get too sore.

Back in 1971 when I was an intern we had a woman who contracted rabies from a bat bite. She died. The isolation procedure for her was very intense (for 1971) as her oral; secretions were considered so infectious. Only person I have ever seen with rabies. I wouldn't want to see another.
