MAC's guaranteed all six teams will make a bowl, so that's moot, but yeah, would be about an extra $1M or so per school, which is no small thing.

That said, under no circumstance can I root for Western so...go Bobcats!

I'm not a MAC guy, so I don't get why you guys all seem to hate Fleck. I read an article that focused on his energy and slogans and he seems more like a motivational speaker than a coach. Is that it or is there something else?

Beyond the rivalry with Western, the son of a friend of mine from high school had a scholarship to Western and had it pulled after he spent a year battling back from a staph infection he got during spring practice. And he didn't even have the balls to do it face to face. There's even more to the story than that to paint Fleck in a negative light, but you get the idea. He's obviously a good recruiter and must be a decent coach, but it's lost in his self promotion and self-aggrandizement. He's universally hated amongst other MAC coaches.

He's the Donald Trump of MAC coaches.

This type of stuff. Western has always been able to get talent...he's more showman than anything else. The players coach act is one of those things that works until it doesn't...then you just look like a jackass.

Fire Up Bobcats! (We are allowing OU to appropriate the greatest and most well-known cheer in the MAC for one night.)

Fleck looks like he's a teenager.

I think I've mentioned it, but Bogan is a local kid. I want to root for him.

Oregon requested an interview with Fleck (along with others, notably Willie Taggart, HC at my hapless, stripped of a BCS conference South Florida Bulls)..

I mean, there are likely going to be better candidates for the Oregon vacancy (I mean, it's a higher profile job than some NFL HC gigs), but yeah, he'll be making the jump to the P5 sooner than later.

That's probably fair. But he gets he experienice of the interview.

Fleck and Western Michigan in talks on contract extension.

I'm rather intrigued he hasn't been offered a job at a bigger school. I can see why he might not get a call from Oregon, but really? No calls from Purdue or Cincinnati? Maybe the ADs realize he's nothing but a self-promoting tool. #fuckyoboat

Got an email from Miami saying their allotment of St. Pete bowl tickets are almost sold out. I find this hard to believe unless our allotment was 100 tickets. I'm going to assume this is a marketing ploy.

Not MAC, but similarly, I got an email from Fort Collins encouraging me to trek to Boise for the Idaho Potatoes bowl vs. University of Idaho. Yehhhh, right. Thanks, anyway.

Some A1 trolling here by a columnist from the still-butthurt Oklahoman, but kinda immediately loses any possible journalistic credibility by not even getting the name of the school correctly in the lede.

Considering Okla St lost to Oklahoma I'm not even sure why they care that much. Yeah I'm sure it sucks but didn't cost them a playoff spot.

They've had pretty good luck with MAC QBs. Even as backups (Batch, Gradkowski). Could see him as a possible late round pick to groom as a backup to Ben.

Brian, if you want to make a return trip, you can do it in 2019 to root against Central's biggest rival.

Would be nice to root for the Cuse. I assume that's a two for one also but they haven't announced the date for the second Syracuse home game?

Any of you Mac-heads got a good read on the game tonight? Toledo is -8 and the o/u is 57.5 - home to Northern Ill.

Line is about right. Northern Illinois has overperformed this year and Toledo is probably the class of the league. If it were at -6.5 I'd be all over Toledo, but -8 is a tough line to give. If the weather isn't as ridiculous as last night, play is probably the over. This time of year with midweek night games seems like offense tends to dominate.
